ohhh I love your new pic Nicola!!! She is sooooo cute! We still have no top teeth ::)

We are finally down to 3 feeds a day and 4 solid meals, breakie, snack before nap, snack after nap (both really finger food BLW) and dinner.

That's a great idea Sara!  Instead of a lunch, do two snacks to give them a chance to try out that pincher grip!

hehe kara, we only got there because of two things
1) he isn't hungry enough for a 'meal' before his nap and
2) he hates lumps fro ma spoon 9and fair enough he only has 2 teeth still!)
Oh and I wanted to get 3 feeds!

So this helps him to chew, pick and choose what he wants, experiment with different tastes etc and kind of graze through out the day. I spent ALL day sunday making different little things for him to eat (and froze), he still prefers mini sandwiches the most though ::) I am so lazy I don't even bother with the high chair for these ones, he gets a big plate with a mix of things on it and we usually sit on the deck so the mess doesn't matter. My biggest problem is that he has learnt that the cats like his scraps!

PS I bribe Z too at breakfast, he loves toast so he gets that first bar one or two bits, then meal then last bits of toast hehe

I haven't given A toast yet - I still have a fear of choking ::)  This will be great when she is 12 and I give her applesauce for breakfast still LOL!  She does chew quite well and can manage lots of things so I will give toast fingers a try today!

I've been giving R toast for ages and ages.  And she loves it and never had an issue with choking.  I do cut the crusts off though.  And she also loves bread with cream cheese!  She loves pancakes for brekkie too.

Toast was a big hit!  I just used some of her fruit puree like a jam and she loved it!

I did pancake a few days ago - she wasn't a big fan.  I will try them again in a couple of weeks!

I cut the crusts off and just did strips about 1/4" wide for her to grab, since she can finally cram things into her mouth most of the time :)

LOL nummy! Can she handle mini sammies Kara? Z loves these too, same size with crusts off.....I have even spread cooked pumpkin on them when I have had nothing else and he loves that! But you can put anything in them really :) Cream cheese and dried apricots are yum.
