Should I cut down on solids?
« on: August 30, 2011, 15:02:43 pm »
DD 7 months and is great at going to sleep herself but wakes often in the night. Last night she seemed to have a belly ache and I wander if she is having too much in the way of solids. She has porridge in the morning, half a jar and half yogurt lunch, half jar and fruit dinner. She sometimes also snacks on a rusk and cheese. She is not really interested in bf in day so should I cut back solids?

I would say yes, definitely. That a is a lot, and LO is probably filling up on the solids instead of the BF which is really what she needs. Solids are for fun until 12 mo so it's important to make sure it's not getting in the way of BF and it sounds like it is for you.

Thanks. I am going to reduce the solids although I think the NW also down to illness as went to doc yesterday and she has bad throat and red ears so guess it must be hard for her at night
