1 yr old 4 a.m. "NW"
« on: September 20, 2011, 16:45:39 pm »
My spirited dd STILL is not sttn...she does on occassion but most nights she wakes at around 4 sometimes 5 a.m. I nurse her and she USUALLY goes back to sleep til about 7...although lately it's been 6:15 a.m. which is not fun.  any thoughts as to why she may still be waking? and how I can try and get her to sttn.  I  know the feeding is unneccessary at this age but have always been so afraid to mess with things and end up with a 4-5 a.m. EW!  thanks for the advice ladies...

Hello, can you post your usual routine? Has she always had NW? (ie you don't think this is teething related or anything?) x

also you should know that schedule I listed is just over the past week or so...prior to that her naps were incredibly short ranging from 30mins-hr for each one...even had one nap days of 30 mins with pm nap refusal...but seems like ever since I started following her signs she has become slightly consistent with her A times and sleeping longer

Well you day is a good length :) Do you think she might be OT? Have you ever tried a short AM nap and long PM? I've found that has worked best for my dd2 for a few weeks now.
Re feeding back to sleep-it really is down to you. If you want to tackle it, we can, just be prepared for the crying and standing your ground. I'm *still* not ready to tackle my 15mo and her 1 NW (most nights) :P But absolutely if you want to stop the feeding then it can be done :) What do you think?
