could lo be sensitive to asparagus?
« on: September 21, 2011, 04:46:28 am »
i'm exclusively BF my 8 week DD and i've been dairy free for awhile now and also have elminated chocolate, alcohol, caffeine and cruciferous vegetables. we had asparagus with dinner tonight and i've had a heck of a time with my DD....has anyone else experienced this with asparagus? i knew it made your pee smell funky, but didn't know if it would mess with a lo's tummy!

I always thought asparagus was a cruciferous veg too..off to google!!

Eta- so far all I've found is that it is related to onions and garlic.

ooh, well onions and garlic are naughty ones on my list (esp. raw, obviously) and i did steam the asparagus with the lid on, meaning that all the gasses remain in the vegetable and the water instead of being released....so i'll stay away from those as well! dh finally managed to walk her to sleep last night at 10pm after 3 hours of crying!!! i could cry just thinking about it. so back to carrots and sweet potatoes and beets for me :)

I haven't heard of that one yet!

Maybe give it a couple of weeks and try again.. it could be just a co-incidence?
