Melissa - I wouldn't push BT.  That was a short nap so keep BT at the usual time, no later - as its still 5hrs A to BT.  As I've said before, from experience, pushing too much just backfires!  HTH.x

yea you are probably right...i will be home earlier tonight for sure so I can definitely make sure she gets in for 7...one change for the day (nap time) is probably enough...do you think it was the right move to have pushed out the nap time since she woke later in the a.m.?  i really feel like a set time works for her so i was hesitant but at the same time i wanted her to get a good nap and not be UT also have wanting to push out the nap later in the day and the late wake up made that easier to do today

I was concerned about UT too Melissa - if you put her down at the normal 11.30am, she might have only slept 45 mins and then you would have a big problem :)

Hi ladies!  Just been thinking, what do you all do about going out for the day when LO is on 1 nap?  Not talking about little trips but whole day trips, like to see family or a day trip out?

Aidan won't have a long nap anywhere other than his cot.

I haven't had to deal with it yet ;)  And, we don't have family here so day trips are pretty unlikely for us... that said, I am stressing about Christmas parties already!  We go to one for DH's work that is at one of his employee's houses - Alexandra has to be there for sure - she is like a communal baby to many of them who have known us for 5 years ;)  But, it starts at 5pm... BT is 7pm right now and I hope to have it pushed closer to 8pm by December but even still!  ACK!

At the moment we go out after his first nap and he has a catnap in the afternoon in his carseat or something.  I've no idea what we will do now.  We visit family every week as they are only 1hr away.

oh  jeez... hmm... He will have an earlier nap when he first moves to a single nap - usually 11/1130 for the first while with an EBT... you could let him start his nap, move him to the car seat after he naps for 30 mins or so, then fingers crossed he will go back to sleep for the hour long drive!

Yeah I will have to try it.  Nightmare!  They will have to come and visit us a bit more!  Although when he is asleep everyone is just waiting for him to get up as he is the centre of attention!  He is a right character right now!

i am a nap natzi lol everything revolves around my dd's sleep was the same with my son...if she is suppose to be sleeping nap or BT I get a sitter or I don't go...except for her own christening then I had no choice but to delay her nap but for everyday things i work around or get a sitter...or plan the trip to be during a nap and pray she sleeps in the car..which is rare so usually i just wait and leave AS SOON AS she wakes...

LOL!  I am like that most of the time too - but there are times that I venture to be different ;)

I think we are back on track today after yesterday's fiasco and a few teething issues!

Put her down at 11:30am, she was asleep within a minute or two and she is still sleeping at 1:55pm!!!

Ick so my internet played up and here is my post from this morning (so out of date :P )
Kara - I found around days 4-5 Zac's nap would shorten and I needed to do a CN or quiet time/EBT I think they do get a touch of cumulated OT with the change, but it can be managed. Teething will make it extra fun aye! ::) Hope today goes well.

I agree with Claire with not pushing after a short nap. Save the pushing for after a great night, or a great nap.

~~~And now :)
Choc - I am a nap freak too and just tell family that in general we need to work around his naps. That said he is touchy and they finally get what he is like when OT. Also our family are close so it is relatively easy. Could your family come to you every fortnight so that it is only 1 a fortnight his naps get messy? Or meet 1/2 way at a park or beach or cafe? That way it isn't so far for either of you can you can go after the nap? We usually do mornings or arvos with family now. Or on the travel days go for 2 shorter naps. ie CN in car on way over (or 45mins) then CN on way home?
