For those of us who watched tv every day when we were little and turned out fine, the fact is TV is VERY different in these days. The level of violence and consumerism and sexualization of young girls is rampant on TV, and that is why we don't have it on. I'm not stuck up about it, we just leave it off while dd is awake. And I mean network television, not PBS or certain kids channels without mainstream commercials.
