Is this part of the transition?
« on: October 10, 2011, 11:01:24 am »
We are in the middle of 1-0 and on days that Madi does not nap she will give me 11.5-12hrs and no nws. If she naps for one hour during the day her nights are down to 10-10hrs and 20mins with at least one nw.

Just wondering is this normal for the transition? It seems we are stuck now b/c she is waking earlier and needs a nap to catch up.

She is waking now 6-6:30am.  I have tried a 30min CN once this week. It was from 2:30-3pm and she was in bed and asleep by 7:30pm.  She woke up at 6:30am the next day.
I am really hating this transition and it feels like it is never going to end.

that's exactly what H would do. and yep, by far the worst transition!

we finally had H doing 11.5hr nights consistently and then this last month he has had either a nw or ew to wee as has decided to work on night time dryness, yet will only nap once or twice a week so wont catch it up ::)

We had 2 no nap days so far this week, first night was 12.5 hours  :o Last night was 11 1/4 hours, up at 6.15am, so I'm going to attempt a car nap today although she's resisting them now too ::)

they are just so puzzling!  I gave her a nap from 1:18-2:18pm and was asleep by 8pm. She woke up after 7am.  Was it the shorter A to bed or was it b/c we are pushing her nap out?

I would *guess* it's the later nap but then again you could try the same tomo and have no luck :P DD slept 10.45-11.30, aiming for half 7/8 bed. No idea what to expect tonight! She already seems really tired at not even 5pm ::)

Fingers crossed for you.
Wendy brought this to my attention. We went for a hike yesterday and I think the fresh air and running around made her tired. That means I have to make her run every day. Yikes.

I don't know if it helps but when DS was at that stage I never allowed him a long nap, I was always afraid he'd be up half the night! I let him have a 15min catnap if he seemed to need it that got him through the day and didn't eat into his night. I think it helped the transition as it meant his nights stayed solid so he was then able to last better without the nap IYKWIM.

Yup! Those long naps cause many nws here. Anything over one hour now gives us at least one nw and a 6am start.

Fresh air always helps DD1 sleep, only problem is I have to keep her awake in the car if we're not to close to home, which means me singing nursery rhymes like a maniac the whole way home!! LAst night bedtime was a disaster ::) Messing around for ages, ended up back downstairs, finally asleep at 10pm :( But up at 8am which was a bonus :P Spent all afternoon at the zoo (10 min nap on the way there) and she was asleep no problems by 8.15 tonight which is good. I def think the fresh air and activity at the zoo helped...

That is awesome. Fresh air always does the trick.

She seems to be on a napping streak lately.
