When are you feeding him at night now? Sorry if I missed this, just when he wakes? I would put him back in his cot after a NF yes and then if he won't settle try shush/pat. If this is too annoying for him maybe just rub his back or leg. The key is to be consistent and not have him come into your bed.

Yes, just feeding him when he wakes around 4ish, if he wakes earlier we pu/pd or put on his tummy and he resettles. I found last night that after bringing him to bed he couldn't sleep, and when I put him back in his crib he went to sleep. I accidentally woke him up last night at 11.30 ad he was awake until 2 :/ Then the storm woke him up at 5am...Hoping for a better go at it tonight!

Hope tonight goes better for you.

I think that is a good sign that DS wants to go in his own bed rather than yours. I would stick with the not feeding until he wakes around 4ish and keep resettling if he wakes before.

What happened when he was awake between 11.30 and 2.00? Was he crying or happy? How did you deal with it, was he in your bed? Is there any teething going on at the moment?

When he's awake then I usually try pu/pd first then move to shy/pat. Usually after a while he settles, and I go back to bed, he's in our room. Then every few minutes he'll cry again and resettle, but eventually he doesn't resettle and starts really crying again. The last 2 nights I have ended up feeding him at 1/2 Ish and 4/5 Ish.  I w this is s backwards step but he has not been able to settle without it.
He is definitely teething right now too.

Teething can play havoc with sleep for some LOs. Have you tried giving pain meds or teething gel before BT?

Yes, sometimes helps sometimes not! So I spent the night away and LO wouldn't take the bottle well -only 11oz in 24 hrs :( So he had very little sleep. So last night he slept from 8 until 4.20, then slept until 7am (in his own bed) after a feed. Maybe he's been reset? We'll see how it goes tonight. I'm tempted to just keep the 4am feed so long as he's sleeping through the rest of the night and deal with that issue later?

Hope things are going well? I would tend to agree that for now if the NF settles him well and you all get a good night after that I too would feed. When he takes less and isn't as interested then you can think about weaning.

Well, I was disappointed, but it could have been worse! He woke up at 3, and my husband was able to soothe him and after a few minutes went back to sleep until 4am. Then I fed him and he slept until 7.
Things are so much better than they were at the beginning of this thread, thanks to you and zacsmumme, so I will be happy for now!

That is really good, you have made so much progress hun. ;D Many people are still doing one NF at 7 months so I wouldn't worry for now. Does he take a good amount when you feed him?

Thanks, I couldn't have done it without  your advice and support! He does take a decent amount as the 4am feed, so i guess he still needs it for now. But getting 8 or 9 hours at a time and long naps is fantastic, and means mummy is no longer a sleep deprived mess ;)))
