9 week old went from 3hour naps to 40min in naps in one day
« on: October 26, 2011, 00:16:58 am »
My little girl was an amazing sleeper from birth. Often sleeping 3+hrs for her naps. She has gas, which seems to be getting worse instead of better and I'm certain that is what is waking her. She was doing 2hr A time (long I know, but she's very alert) now she only seems to make it to about 1.5hrs which is fine, but by the end of the day it's about 45mins. I can't seem to get her back to sleep once the gas wakes her unless she's in her swing. She does fall asleep on her own, but can't seem to get herself back for the naps.
Any thoughts?

Do you think your LO could be waking from discomfort with the gas/wind? Do you think she could have reflux - does she have any of the symptoms of it?

She could be OT from the long A times. Plus at this age they get more alert and harder to get to sleep. They also fight more when OT!

I've been watching her very closely this week and getting her down as soon as she gets tired. I do believe she is waking from the gas. My son had a similar problem, we're going to take her to his gastro doc as soon as we can. It could be reflux, but hard to tell.
I am finding her to be much more alert. I had one success of getting her back to sleep, but the other times, she was just grunting and pushing her legs. Yesterday, she slept for an hour and 15, so I got her up and put her in her swing while I looked after my 2 year old. I looked over a few mins later and she was asleep and slept for 3 hours!
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
