ok ladies so here is a new one for me...Av is STILL sleeping...2 hrs 40 mins and counting..(minus that 5 min disruption by the recycling truck) do I wake her?  I am just worried about her night tonight..but based on her 10 hr night (or at least I think..hard to say because I didn't see her fall asleep as my hubby and i had date night right after I put her down :)  and my sister says she thought she was still awake until 8 because she was moving around..who knows)  so if it was a 10 hr night than she probably needs this...

I dunno its 2:10 how long do i let her go?   what the heck time do i do BT?

LOL O used to get disturbed by the recycling at our house too.  Thank God its on a Monday & now I am back at work O is at nursery so its no longer an issue!

Ladies we have had 2 days with 5hr 1st A time & 2hr nap.  Last night he did a 12hr night - YAY!!!!   I think he's getting poorly AGAIN though - got home from work today to find him whining, flushed & very hot - his temp was 38.6 degrees.  I've dosed him up & he's been ok this avo but despite us doing the shortest A time to BT he's had all week, he woke 20mins after BT crying.  So I don't think we're out of the EW woods yet.

Hope you all have great naps/ restful nights.xx

ETA: Melissa I would leave her 3hrs absolute max.  Or you might find it robs from her night tonight.  She will also need a pretty decent A to BT - I'd do absolutely no earlier than 7, maybe even 7.30 - but be guided by her.  As you say - this is possibly her catching up for what she missed out on last night so you don't want to push her too hard & make her more OT.  But equally you don't want her UT & waking early tomorrow!

Totally. Thanks. She just woke 2 hrs 50 mins. Wow guess I just have to watch her. I get what your saying and I want a set bed time just feeling it out now cause we lived on EBT's at 6 pm getting 12.5 hr nights.  Guess going to have to wait and see. Thanks ;)

What a nice problem to have!  Too long a nap!!
Aidan has taken 30 mins to settle for bed, that has never happened before.  Bet we in for more NWs too.  I hate going back to this.

Hugs Gemma - molars still?

Melissa - we had a terrible day because I needed a day to regroup... we were doing so great with the one naps days, then A got a cold so I just followed her lead until she felt better, then she cut a tooth the next day (#5!)... things just went down the toilet from there - long naps, shorter nights and a cranky baby.  The only way I have found to get her out of the EW, early and long nap to catch up from the short night, meaning late BT and another EW etc is to keep her up and give her a short nap early afternoon and then hope she catches up overnight to get us to a later start time... it does usually work - and it did this time too... she was asleep at 730pm and STTN with only the one NW at 830pm for a couple of mins.  She woke a 555am but happily dozed back to sleep until 640am.  That made it late enough to start to push her nap back to 1130am (she was back to 945am when sick).  I got her to 1125am today without any issue at all and she went down peacefully within a couple mins :)

Fingers crossed that she has a decent nap.

I've hit an all time low over here. I have no idea what my DD's problem is or how to fix it. I tried putting her down at 12:30 and it's now 1:30 and I had to nurse her to sleep again. And I tried moving her before she was out and she started screaming again so I had to nurse her, AGAIN.

How can one day she be taking 2 naps and self settling and overnight change? I just feel so devasted and alone and clueless. She's gotta be tired but just stands up and cries. This is 5 days now of not getting proper day sleep and not going to bed by herself. I think Wednesday was the only day that she went to sleep in 5 mins.
I've tried 3, 4,5,6 hrs A time and it's been the same thing everytime! Seriously, what do I do now? At least tomorrow is Saturday and DH will be home.

Smurfette - Let me get Brooke over here - her little girl Lyanna has been on one nap for ages (she is just a year old) and she is already in the land of nap capping heading for the 1-0!

Kara what time do you think is a good BT after such a long nap waking at 2:20?  So are you saying it was too long?  I'm think an 11-11.5 hr night with a 2-2.5 hr nap is doable....no?  Nearly 3 hrs I suppose is a bit much to expect a good night like that but I am thinking some of that was catch up.

So are you saying I should cap it if I have another EW?

Smurfette IMO you may be jumping around too much   I have been where you are and not naive enough to think this cant all come crashing down on me BUT....I really think you are definitely at the 1 nap stage and right now you have severe OT. IIWM....I'd do 6 pm EBT with an 11:30 nap. You may be tired of hearing that from me but I truly have nothing else to offer because I am a huge believer in it. My dd IMO was the worst sleeper since birth and now I am FINALLY finding some true sleeping bliss....and I really believe its because I stuck with set times and kept every day the same for a long period and it has finally seemed to click and set her clock. You can't lose in trying right?  I think a 12:30 nap is too big of a jump for the start of it. You were just doing 3,3 ? And then you jumped to a much bigger A...IMO too big. You do a nice early 6pm EBT until you start getting some longer naps  Just my thoughts but either way I hope you find your answers.

Choc I think you are at OT too. I know you have a set BT but some situations really do need and EBT IMO. For US we have faired better with EBT over CN.

Maybe I should have.  He has been massively OT before though when he was doing 2 x 30 min naps and we never had this.
