broken bottom. Help needed quickly please

we finished bf.ing on wed. Today, dd had a poo that did not squash on its way out. It opened her bum to almost an inch across. Poor thing was in agony getting the poo out. Behind the first 4 inches it was more loose. There were some streaks of blood but no obvious tear. Is this just her getting used to the formula, or should i get a laxative for her?

Formula does make for firmer poo than breast milk so it could be her adjusting. I wouldn't give her anything unless a Dr or other health professional has advised you to though. You can give her a little cooled boiled water between feeds (just a couple of oz over the day) or put just a little bit more water in the bottle before you add the powder.

I would get her checked out though just to be safe.

so today we've been to the doctor after a 24hour poo strike. It just would not come out at all. Stuck in her bum and left it wide open. Poor little girl. We have movicol-anyone tried this?
