Which formula are you using? Have you got his cot elevated - that can really help.

Hi, agree with Laura again. It really does sound like the reflux is causing some issues, especially if he settles well in his swing where he is more upright. Maybe a trip back to the docs is needed.

he is on earth's best organic formula (we tried 5 others which he would vomit).  would you recommend then that we put him in the swing when he wakes at 4a?  why would he easily resettle prior to the 4a waking if it was the reflux?

No I wouldn't suggest that you put him in his swing at 4am as this may become a prop that you will have to wean later. I think you need to check with the docs that his reflux isn't bothering him first and get it properly medicated if it is. Also like Laura said elevating his cot may help too.
why would he easily resettle prior to the 4a waking if it was the reflux?
Reflux babies settle to sleep better in an upright position so that the milk/acid isn't coming back up as easily, so that is why I said he would settle better in his swing. Nothing to do with the time of wake up though or anything else.

We tried putting him upright last night and he still woke up just as frequently, and I think even a little more. His dr does not feel comfortable upping his Prevacid dose. Any other recommendations?

Are you still feeding him if he wakes in the night and do you keep him upright after a NF for a while?

What are his  dirty nappies like - any mucous at all? Has anyone suggested you do a dairy free trial to see if it's dairy causing the problems?

Can you post your EASY too so we can see how the whole day is going?
