Hello

My little girl used to take to the bottle when she was a baby and has occasionally had bottles since but due to recent illness is now not interested in the bottle at all and screams at the sight of it. I had already started dropping breast feeds before she became ill and now do not have enough milk myself to satisfy her. Instead she is crying all day very hungry but refuses the bottle. Please help!!

Have a look at these links and see if they will help. If you have tried everything come back and I'll get some of the breastfeeding ladies to have a look.

I used the tommi tippe (sp?) Bottles,,,the ones that are like a breast almost,,,,so that the baby gets to " latch on" to the bottle the way they woild with a breast!x

Lolly...I'm in the same boat...except I still want to BF but need to supplement with formula because my LO has not gained weight in over 2 months. Today he drank about 1 oz of formula from the bottle when my husband gave it to him...it took 10 minutes of coaxing..and we did this right before his BF. However, LO will not take the bottle from me. I don't know what to do because I am the one home with him and he NEEDS to have this bottle. I have tried some of the tips...nothing works. Any other suggestions?

Just to give a bit more info: the lactation expert and my doctor both recommended giving him 2 extra ounces of formula after every BF (daytime). Easy for them to say lol ;p

Lincolns_Mommy - can I suggest you post on the breastfeeding board for advice? The ladies there have a lot of information which would help you. If you want to keep breastfeeding there are other ways to boost your supply and get more calories into him - every oz of formuls you give is an oz less of breastmilk you will make.

How much does he weigh and is he being plotted on the breastfed baby charts?
