My only concern is if I'm giving it too much. How many days in a row before it becomes excessive?

I'm no help there, as Ijust keep giving it if she's in pain.....and Katie's always been a tummy sleeper :)  Glad you're getting some better sleeps.

I spoke to our doc about this as I was worried too. She said as long as you are not giving the max dose every 4 times a day then it is fine to carry on using it. So if you are only giving a couple of doses in 24hrs then that would be ok. Other thing she said was not to use ibuprofen on an empty stomach. So we use paracetamol if dosing DD up in the middle of the night.

Another not so great night, starting at 10:30 :( I couldn't give any meds until after 1:00 but I don't even know if teething is totally the issue. She seems to like tummy sleeping but does wake "stuck" sometimes I think. I don't know if the paci is becoming an issue, DD1 gave it up on her own around 4 months so I don't have much paci experience. Plus she seems to have a runny nose again. Just so many variables at this point, I'm unsure of where to start.

runny nose could be related to teething.  I have no paci experience as neither of my girls would take one.  {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

Totaly agree that runny nose can be teething related.

As for the paci, it is a prop if your DD can't fall asleep or resettle back to sleep without it. Does she settle straight back off to sleep if you replug the paci? If it is a prop you can either wean it or ride it out until your DD can replug herself.

Last night was better  ;D She only woke at 2:00 and after giving her teething tablets & trying to settle, she seemed like she was maybe hungry so I fed her and she went right back until 7:15! As far as the paci, she looks for it to fall asleep but I don't think she has it all night and I do see her replugging.  But when she replugs, it's more like playing around than going back to sleep!  So I'm not worrying about it yet especially with teething in the mix.  She had no meds other than the tablets so I'm hoping the worst is over until the next tooth  ::)

Nope, another rough night  ??? She woke at 10:30 but I watched her replug & settle herself on the monitor. She was up at 12 & seemed hungry so I fed her & she went back. But then she was up around 3:45 and I couldn't settle her so I tried to feed again (I haven't done 2 NFs in ages but I didn't know what else to do!). Even after that DH had to go in to settle her by 4:30 & she was up for the day at 6:45. Every night seems different so it's hard to tell what to do.

sorry things are rough dana. FWIW we are going through the same. DD is very congested and I am pretty sre it is teeth. She wakes through the night but then her naps are bad too so probably OT. I am giving nurofen before bed. x

we had a bad night too - super congested, I don't know if it's teeth or a cold, but we have to keep suctioning out her nose (which of course she HATES), giving teething tablets and ibuprofen, and even then I end of bfing to sleep and holding her upright so her nose clears and then putting her down, and she still wakes 1-2 hrs later.  Sorry for no advice, but you're not alone.

I'd say if she can and does replug herself then the paci isn't the problem.

It's nice to hear I'm not alone (although I certainly wish you ladies weren't going through this either) but I guess it's just shaking my confidence as a mom that I'm not sure what to do. Not helping my anxiety either but that's for my other thread I guess ;)

have you had the dr look at her?  Katie has ANOTHER ear infection.  She's not running a fever and isn't pulling at her ears, but yep, ear infection :(

Another ear infection Michelle? Ugh :(
I never thought of that as a possibility and I hope it wasn't that. We're not going back for the follow up until the 17th (weird that she was on antibiotics for 10 days but they told me to follow up a month later?) Anyway, Avery slept 6:15-6:15 last night! Now that may have been a catch up after all the rough nights we've had or due to the fact that after a great 1.5 hour morning nap, she only slept a whopping 30 minute afternoon nap   ::) so I'm not sure that we're back on track. I sure hope so though. Thankfully I went to bed early so I finally got a good night's sleep :)
