Stuck in a hellish OT nightmare :o(
« on: November 29, 2011, 10:18:00 am »
I'm really here just to moan  :-[ I know what I need to do to fix it, I've just not been physically able to at the moment. He so desperately needs sleep and has just not been able to get it.

Nights are bad, night terrors are back  :'( It all started because I couldn't work out whether he was OT or UT, things weren't too bad at all but he definitely needed a tweak, and by the time I realised he was OT we had a few days where we weren't at home for naptime and it all spiralled out of control  :(

He was then quite 'unwell' on Sunday (high temp, lifeless, not eating, etc) and I honestly think it was down to being completely exhausted rather than actually being 'ill' (he had diarrhea/very loose stools yesterday but seemed fine in himself and I think it was really just down to not eating anything the day before) :'(

We're at home all day today. Going to have a quiet day. And if this child doesn't nap then this mummy is resigning  :-\

Hugs Cath.  Maybe try for an earlier nap to see it that helps?  x

Thanks Karen. Yes I think I will. Although he was up over an hour later than 'normal' today (as in normal before he was EWing because of the OT  ::) ) because he'd been up so much in the night. Still think he'd be tired enough for an early nap though.

Oh I soooo do! But that always jinxes it.....the moment I fall asleep he wakes. Always :( Will have a cuppa and put my feet up with Loose Women instead :)

I *know* he wont do this  ::) no matter how much he needs it. And I have no car today so can't even AP a CN :( He'll be having an early night though, whether he likes it or not!  :P

Thanks lovelies  :-* I know you're all having horrible times with sleep at the moment too, these pesky toddlers  ::)

Hugs girls  :-*

Ok, we're down for a nap, but we're not yet napping :( I didn't get him down as early as I'd planned so now I'm paying for it.

Really hope he goes off soon. It's so frustrating when then need it so badly. Stubborn little things  >:(

I had to go into him after about 15 mins because he was getting in such a state - screaming so much that he was choking, then shouting 'Mummy I have a cough' so loudly, over and over again, therefore making himself cough more. Yeah, no wonder you have a cough  ::)

He then needed the potty and sat on it grinning whilst I was getting more and more annoyed that he wasn't doing anything. It was a stalling tactic and I ended up shouting at him  :-[ He didn't want to go back to bed, but he did in the end and went to sleep soon after.

So, he fell asleep about 30 mins after going up (which isn't bad these days tbh), has been asleep for just under an hour and a half now (his 'usual' nap length). He just woke and moaned, but I think he's gone back to sleep.

Do we all agree that I should be letting him continue napping? He needs it as far as I can see.

I would.  On the rare occasions I get Ethan to nap these days when he needs a catch up I let him sleep as long as he wants and he still goes to bed ok that night.
