DS is 7.5months :o We've done the distracted while eating thing, then it got a bit better and now he wants to shift positions every 5 sucks or so, unlatches while I'm spraying milk everywhere (so its not frustration that he's not getting any milk). I get that its hot, so I feed under a fan in the morning and evening and under air con in the middle of the day, use damp towels from the fridge between us, etc. to help with the heat and being near me for long enough to get in a feed.

He still wants to sit beside me to feed, or stand on the floor with me lying on my side on the couch (just the right height!) or be in a 'crawling position' with his legs straight and his hands grabbing my boob to get it into his mouth.

I read all these ladies' posts that they enjoy the snuggles with extended BFing. I don't get snuggles :( I guess I wonder if this is just a spirited 'I must move' thing or normal for this age or if I'm just that mother that lets her kid get away with more than he should... it's nigh on impossible to feed when outside the house any more as its rather revealing.

Lol Hun, I remember Z being like this. I would have to feed as soon as he woke in his room or he would be too distracted. It did pass eventually ::) does your LO have a lovey or anything he can play with, with his hands while feeding? Even if it's a necklace of yours or something so he doesn't wriggle off ya!

Mine did that around 9mts.  I felt like a buffet!  It will pass.  This is when I found moving to a bottle or scheduling feedings so to speak. If that makes sense.  I just stopped offering it so often.  This way I found he sat still for longer when he did feed because he was hungry and not just snacky!  I hope that makes sense!

He only feeds 4x a day now... wake up (from night sleep and each of two naps - ~6, 10, 3) and bedtime (~6:30) so by rights he shouldn't be snacky - he's still having a full feed I think, just doesn't want to sit still for it :P

He does breast compressions with his hands while feeding LOL, not that its really necessary with my letdown but it must keep things flowing after... he's been watching me hand express milk to go with his dinner and he can hand express too! He thinks its hilarious that he can make me squirt milk around the place...

Oh well, good to know I'm not the only one :) Thanks

I'm thinking nursing necklace maybe?  Have you tried it, you could always make one of your own with interesting things on it for him to grab.
