« on: December 08, 2011, 09:04:52 am »
Just a quick question my LO (7 months) is going to his grandmothers next week as I am back at work- he is currently on about 3:15 A time- what do I do re: nap time if he falls asleep on the way- he gets up at 6:00- should be traveling at 7:15 ish and his first nap is 9:15 ish!! Bare in mind I am not there so need to instruct grandma. I should also mention that his next bottle is 11:30

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you.  Is he really likely to fall to sleep though if his nap is not due until much later, won't he be wide awake?  Hmmm...I suppose I'd try something like a new toy attached to the car seat to keep his attention and prevent him nodding off.
How long is the journey?  If it is ten mins or so then you could leave the nap at the regular time.  Although if it was my DS I think I'd move the nap later because if he gets even the shortest nap (5 mins) he behaves as though he has had a full one and will kick off like he is UT if I try to get him to nap without a full or almost full A time follow a stupidly short shut-eye.
Maybe tell grandma if he puts up a big fuss at nap time to let him have a longer A and try again 15 min later, and to give the 11.30 E as soon as he wakes if it is later.

Sorry can't be of more help really  ???

I agree with creations...I would say that it totally depends on your LO.  If he sleeps for, like, 5-10 minutes in the car, I would venture to say that he'll be ready for his nap at the same time as normal.  However, if he naps for longer, you'll have to learn how much A time he prefers to do afterwards and just adjust accordingly.
