Can't get 9 week old to stay napping- please help!
« on: December 11, 2011, 00:52:06 am »
We've been having trouble getting our 9 week old to stay asleep during her naptime. This has been going on for the past 2 weeks.  She will fall asleep in our arms , but once she is put down, she wakes up, usually crying about 15 mins later leaving her virtually napless the entire day unless she is held which makes it impossible. She sleeps well at night, waking once for a feeding although gets up between 5-7 am and won't go back to sleep. She falls asleep well at night because I think she is so exhausted. I am breastfeeding, but when my husband bottle feeds her, same issue arises as she she naps...will fall asleep but won't stay asleep for long periods of time.

We are at our wits end...appreciate any suggestions!

Hi there! :)
How long is she awake before you are trying to get her to nap?
How long is she napping each time - ie length she is asleep in your arms to waking in cot...
How long are you holding her before PD into the cot?

HUGS - Its hard work when they dont sleep! :-*
