My LO will be 8 mos at the beginning of the new year. She has STTN before a few weeks ago, sleeping for 10, 12, or 8 hours a night, so I know she doesn't necessarily NEED to nurse in the middle of the night.
However, after a week of STTN, she's gone back to NW, sometimes more than once. I've always just gone in an nursed her (once we stopped co-sleeping at 6 mos) and I've considered introducing DF. To be honest, I've been afraid of actually waking her up as she's had trouble self soothing from day 1 (hence the past co-sleeping).
Her schedule go messed up 2 weeks ago with an unforseen landscaper incident (thank you, chain saws!!), so it looks kind of like this now:
Wake & Nurse: 5:30am
SOMETIMES GOES BACK TO SLEEP UNTIL 6:30AM IF WE ARE LUCKY!!
E: 7 or 7:30 solids
S: 9am or 9:30 (depends on wake up time)
Wake & Nurse: 10:30 or 11am (depends on when she went down)
E: 12 solids
S: 2 or 2:30
Wake & Nurse: 3:30 or 4
E: 5 solids
S: 6:30 or 7
NW & nurse: has been as early as 11 or as late as 2
If she NW early, sometimes she'll NW again, sometimes not.
Our WD consists of nursing (sometimes a lot, sometimes a little), story, song, and bed
I know from the book that many are dropping the DF at this point, so I don't want to start it up if it's something I actually am going to wean her from soon.
Suggestions?
