on antibiotics and dropping oz.
« on: December 20, 2011, 10:36:11 am »
M is on antibiotics for a chest infection. She is drinking still but has dropped from about 32 oz to about 20-25. Not too drastic but how do I deal with solids here?

She has 2 meals a day. This am she took 5oz of her bottle but then threw quite a bit up (I think DH was trying to get her to take more  :P

She then had a good bfast....should I be stopping solids?

Feel a bit confused.

oh dear, poor dd!!  If she has an appetite, i would just continue with solids but try more BRAT diet as it is easier for the stomach to digest for the energy she needs to fight off the infection.  Milk isnt that easy to digest, some kids are very aware of what the bodies need.  DS was super hungry baby and used to drink a lot but whenever he was ill, he would stop completeu with milk and would eat only rice and banana.  maybe you can give her mashed banana and rice cereal without milk?

healthy vibes for her xx
