How do you know if the dreamfeed is not working?

What do you mean by not working? It will depend on the age of the baby as to how long they will sleep after a dreamfeed. What is happening with your nights?

Well it seems one day she will go 2.5hrs after the dreamfeed and another she will go 3.5 or 4 if we are lucky.  And she is waking hungry each time.  Once she went 6 hrs!!!!  It's just that she is so inconsistent with how long she can go after the dream feed.  I am really not getting the 2.5hrs because she goes 3 hrs during the day and to be honest she could probably go longer, I just always feed her at 3 hrs.  Should I be trying different times to do the dream feed?  Like maybe try the dream feed at 10pm instead of 11pm?  should this even make a difference?  I suppose I'm just wanting her to be more consistent at night.

I think consistency at this age is a bit optimistic really, she is still so tiny and doing so much growing. All you can do is keep things regular and it will get better. If she can go 3 hours in the day she *should* be able to go 3 hours at night, but it means you will be up more getting her back to sleep and then up soon again for a feed and if she is taking a full feeding she probably is genuinely hungry.

Does she have a dummy/ paci?

Yes, but it rarely ever works :-\  I am pretty sure I'm desperate for some consistency and wishing this LO would get it figured out ;)
