Hello, I am new to this board so not really sure if I'm doing this right but I could really use some help. My 5 month old daughter has been waking up every 30 to 45 min at night the last week and a half screaming and most of the time is unconsolible. She is acting like her stomach hurts her(flinging her leggs and bringing them up to her tummy). She also wasnt eating, we switched her to nutramingen form and took her off her meds (Previcid) since they seemed to stop working. Since being on the Nutrminigen she seems to be eating better but still not sleeping, and still irritable at some feedings.... She will be eating and start screaming, will flail her legs out and fart, then will be okay for a min or so then do the same thing again........Any advice or remedies u found? Her GI specialist told me not to let ger cry it out because she seems to be in pain not behavioral. Just dont know what to do she was sleeping from 8p to 730 am............She seems to be better if we put her in a swing or something like that because her legs are up to her tummy...... She was diagnosed with Colic and Reflux when she was newborn however lately I really am wondering if it isnt reflux or if it is other tummy issues. I just dont know if something is anatomically wrong with her. Thank you so much.

Aww poor baby and hugs to you. Sounds like reflux and tummy issues for sure.  Did you try getting her to the GI doctor again? Has she started solids lately? Did you try giving her the Prevacid again?

Hugs Hun, what was the Prevacid dose she was on? Reflux often peaks at 4-5 months so it could well be reflux pain causing the discomfort. When you stopped the meds how long had she been on them? Did you consider an increase in the meds or change of meds prior to weaning?

ATM you are doing the right thing by cuddling her, a baby in pain can not be sleep trained, and need all the cuddles and help to sleep you an give.

Thank you guys for the replies..... She was on the meds for about 3 months we up'd the dose for about a week and no change so thats when I finally said I'm taking her off of it..She was at her max dose......If it is reflux would she be farting like that-- it really seems to me that is why she is in pain......Also, she did start solids about a week or so before this all started but I have stopped giving them to her until we get this all figured out. Thanks!
