Hiya,
DS will be 2 on the 22nd of January. His old routine was as follows from the age of 1, save the usuall illness/teething drama's:
6am WU
11 to 1pm nap
7pm BT
The above was pretty stable, but of course his nap would sometimes waver by 30 mins or so. I have always been a fan of EBT as Sam has always tacked on, but no so much recently
. The problem is that we are now getting an inconsistent WU and I'm pretty sure we are in an UT/OT loop. Every day is different! I have always stuck to set A time to nap and not set nap time when we've had any problems with EBT thrown in. ATM he is catching up with whopper nights of 12+ and 2 hrs + naps but then getting UT and giving me PD struggles. I have tried increasing his A time to 5.5 hours but 5 hours seem to be so successfull and right for Sam and I'm struggling with that being the right decision, so for the last 5 days I have tried capping his nap at 1.5 hours. He wakes happy but is definetely more tired in the afternoon. The last 3 nights he has gone down at 7pm no problem but has had 5am WU..I do WI/WO and he resettles, but surely this is a sign of OT kicking in
Should I just extend his A time but let him still nap 2 hours
I am also aware that a longer AM A time doesn't always overide a shorter PM for Sam
. And as much as I realise it may be inevitable I don't want to push BT out at the moment if possible. The following is what I would like: HA HA
6.30 WU
12 to 2pm nap
7pm BT.
I have a feeling that you will say that his day is too short for an almost 2 year old and 13.5 hours sleep too much (please dont
)
especially since he has been handling a 13 hour day and 6 hours to BT since 1 year old. Something's gotta give hasn't it
. Do you think the above would be better with a 7.30 BT
I await your words of wisdom Ladies
BTW I have always thought Sam is an average sleep needs LO.
Thanks in advance
