Guys, I am one of those Moms who has had tremendously horrible experiences with modern medicine. HORRENDOUS.  When I tried to opt out of my newborn dd having antibiotic forced into her eyes upon her birth, the hospital was going to have her placed in foster care. Foster care. MY child.  We have been in the reflux trenches, and while it goes against most of our belief system, (the body heals itself with the right things put into it), we did medicate our baby at 12 weeks of age, because to see her suffer and cry and be in pain was just not something I could continue seeing.  We tried everything, chiropractic, kinesiology, NAET, you name it, we did it.  In the end, I needed my baby to be ok. I needed for her to smile and to trust this world that I invited her to be in.

As I type this, my child is also medicated for chronic constipation, that one of the best alternative medicine doctors in my COUNTRY cannot figure out.  I can't leave her to suffer....I can't see her tummy stick out, I can't see her cry with bellyaches.  I will continue on my holistic path, but I understand that there are times when you (I) just can't fix it!  I feel what you feel, truly.

I GET IT.  I totally get it.  But you have to try to understand that there are discussions, where information is being shared, and then there is a point at which those discussions turn into something more...when specific dosing is figured out on these baords, when a quote from FB is posted that someone gave their child fish oil, saw that he got hives, and pressed on anyway. At some point it just feels reckless, yk? Can you try to appreciate that the site has to look out for "other" Moms besides you guys coming here and reading all of that? There are liability issues.  There are issues of responsibility.

I hope you see that none of you are being judged...but sometimes things need to be done in the best interest of the site and its guidelines.

Yes, share your information, but in a way that maybe makes others feel like they're not doing everything wrong, yk? More of a "this is what worked for us" kind of thing.  Everyone's heart is in the right place here....yours, the mods, and the admins...everyone is trying to do what is right...with respect.

I hope you can try to understand.

Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it!

With that said....Since visiting this new doctor last Monday....DS has had some slight joint manipulations...but the main thing here is that we introduced a new probiotic and B-12 supplementation.  Since the new supplements have been added DS has been getting progressively better over the days and I have since had to decrease his medicines.....he was on 3 heavy doses of stool softeners a day and now he is down to one and I am getting ready to decrease that as well......I have also eliminated all gluten and dairy products from his diet.

All I can say from this is it has helped me and DS tremendously to see another route other than conventional medicine where the GI specialist I was seeing wanted to pump my son full of meds and if it didnt work hospitalize him and force meds into him to make him go.

I have been dealing with this issue since he was 4 months old and my pedi kept telling me its normal and he will "grow out of it".  I didnt take no for an answer and kept digging for things and all I can say is trust your gut!!! :)

It appears mjohnson33 has seen improvement and will continue to work with her doctor.  Since this thread has come to a conclusion, we shall lock it at this point.  Thanks for understanding.
