wake at 2am for morning MRI
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:25:23 am »
My 14 mo daughter is having an MRI with anesthesia this week.  It is scheduled for 8am.  The nurse says to feed my daughter at 2am.  My daughter has slept thru the night for a while and I am not sure how she will react when I wake her up to feed her at 2am.  Also, I do not know how I am supposed to starve her in the morning when she normally takes a bottle at 6:30am.
Does anyone have any advice to offer?  Thanks in advance!

No advice but hugs for u and lo

Don't even worry about it, this is just one of those things that has to happen, if lo does wake the next few nights for a feed you can try w2s (if the same time) or just conforting ....to be honest she prob will wake if she had to miss feeds, and have a bit of a change to her routine.

Curve Balls will happen, lo will just look to you to get through so try not to be anxious about being off track (if you do)

Hope everything goes ok

(((hugs)))
I'd just wake her for her bottle and if it were me, I'd probably just cuddle with her for the rest of the night -- maybe bring her into your bed for a bit -- if the bottle wakes her up some, she might need some time before she goes back to sleep so she very well might sleep through that normal 6:30 bottle -- and then with all the distraction about getting to the appt, she might not notice all that much!  It will probably throw off your schedule for a few days, but if you stay consistent and listen to her cues I'm sure that it will all get back into place.  And if not, there's always the Getting Back on Track board.
Hope everything turns out ok!
