DD was a super eater at 6 months, but after about a month lost interest. There's been the odd day (like once a month) where she'll eat her entire meal (usually 4 Tbsp fruit/veg with 1 Tbsp cereal). Recently I've tried finger foods because purees were not going well. She'd take a few bites and lose interest.
So for lunch I've been doing toast with cheese and trying to squeeze some pureed veggies in between. For dinner I'm just going to do steamed veggies and see how that goes. But I'm at a loss for breakfast. I've done cheerios, which she loves, but even though she can pick them up she won't put them in her mouth, just play with them. But when I offer her them with my own fingers she'll devour them. So while that works, I'd like to try something where she can self feed easily. This morning I tried pancakes (more of a mushy egg/pumpkin/apple/oatmeal substance) which she took one bite of and refused. I normally do fruit purees mixed with oatmeal but she's not into them anymore, or even yogurt with fruit.
She LOVES baby mum mums but obviously that's more of a snack then anything. So the only finger foods she self feeds with are mum mums and toast. I would love to hear other ideas for breakfast, and any meal actually! It seems to be that if she can easily bring it to her mouth without it falling apart, she's much more likely to eat it.
