Dreamfeed Question
« on: January 10, 2012, 02:01:01 am »
I am trying to implement a dreamfeed with DS (nearly 8 weeks), but he doesn't wake up enough to BF, so am considering giving him pumped milk by bottle.  I'm just not sure what I should do for that feed - do others usually pump at 10ish and give that milk or pump after LO is done feeding or not pump at all at 10 and use milk pumped earlier in the day.

TIA!

I'd keep persevering with the breast- it took us a number of goes and then he got it- MUCH easier than expressing- although DH can't do it for you! I tried pulling his lip down (was hard) and pushing the nipple in there... Also trying at a different time- earlier/later- so different part of sleep cycle, might help.

Agree with trying at a different part of the sleep cycle, and if you were going to pump for that feed, I'd suggest pumping right after the morning feed, since that's when you'll get the most milk.
