Im a bit worried though that with a good night and reasonable WU he will need a touch longer A before his nap or till BT :-\ I think ill play it be ear and if possible go with a touch more before the nap making it 12.15-2.15 BT 7.15 thoughts?

IIWM I would just observe. I worry about undoing the good by stretching Sam too soon, but you may be right. What would happen if he went down at the same A time and was UT  ??? happy chatting until tired enough or screaming baby  ??? I think this is important too  ::)

For his nap he would just go down, no chatting no matter what time really I think. For BT ??? He seems to chat forever no matter what A I give him ::) Ill stick with same A times then :P

-- update ;)
So I did
Nap 12-2
bT 7.15  I think he was out before 7.40 maybe even 7.30 :-\
Cross our fingers for a good night...or just any more than 10.5 hrs! ::)

:D :D :D :D :D alright! I chickened out waking at 7.05 and opened his door just before 7.15 so he woke naturally 'kind of'
So today was nap 12-2 he was shattered and grizzly wanting to just snuggle and read books / watch wiggles last hour of A??? Teething I suspect.
BT 7.15 asleep by 7.40 again but pretty miserable! He's had a few groans already so I'm dreading tonight as it could be a teething mess and ruin our day 3 lol

Well not too bad, a few pain cryouts and woke ~6.30 I think, but may be later or drifted in our out as I didnt hear much till 6.55. At least he woke happy and gently not crying so I am happy. Plus I 'think' he may have crashed last night and been asleep by 7.30 in which case he slept 11hrs anyway. :D

lol I know. Well this morning he did the biggest poop I have ever seen, plus he had no probiotics the last 2 days as I ran out and couldnt get more in time so I wonder if he had a bit of a funny tummy yesterday rather than teeth :-\ who knows ::)

If we can just go a week with good nights and naps Ill know we are 'hopefully' back on track for now.

Hows Sam, you still getting those loooonnnngggg nights?

Where on earth do they put all that poop in their tiny little bodies  ???  :o I hope things keep improving  :) how are you feeling  ??? any sickness yet  ???

WRT Sam we're struggling a little as he's tired and yawning all the time  :( he's not drastically OT but something is wrong somewhere. I had to cut his nap back to 1.15 and if I allow CU naps he wakes early. Right now he is EW and CO but then resettling and CO every 30 mins until we're up at 7.30, but I'd rather he had a solid night and we were up 6.30 TBH. Last night we had a 3.15 NW too, so I know he OT.

I think that 5 hrs pm A time may be too much on that shorter nap so I'm going to try a  7pm BT tonight. The reason I haven't is from 1 year old he was handling 6 hours in the afternoon after a 2 hour nap and a 13 hour day. His day would be less than 12 hour right now if he goes down at 7  :-\ but I think it may need to be done in the interim..any thoughts  ???

Hugs Hun :-* I always try EBT as a first thing to try. z used to tack on which is why, but it doesn't always work now. I would say trying an EBT of 7 is a good place to start, FX he takes it and doesn't fight it! Would offering one slightly longer nap help, not a biggie but maybe 1hr30 for 1 day with the same BT, just extra 15 mins of sleep? This sometimes helps us.

We had a rough morning and BT last night. He was still asleep by 7.40 but upset till then. Not sure what it is that's upsetting his tummy, but something is. We are mid med (losec) wean for his reflux so I'm wondering if this is not helping :-\ he woke at 5.40 then resettled the woke at 6.10 and was miserable, but tired till 6.50 and we got him up at 7. He will be knackered by 12 but I'll try to only PD for nap 15 mins earlier and move the entire day forward as to stick as best we can to the new routine.

Hiya,

Thanks for the advice Hon  ;) EBT was always my first stop too because Sam always tacked on but a few times lately hasn't which has made me fearful of it a little  :-\ but it usually works. Today was a whole other story which I'll spare you from  :-X Allowing him even an 1hr and half nap has been backfiring so I have to rule that out unfortunately which is why I have once again cut back to 1.15 and I have a sneaky feeling I may need to cut back more in order to make him keep up with good solid nights more than 11 hours long which he needs on a short nap :'(

I  hope Zacs tummy is better soon  :( it really seems like one thing after another for everyone lately!  ::) no matter which country we live in and it really doesn't help us to iron out the sleep issues. Sam and I have another cold right now, I think mine should have been a nasty virus but I have warded it off for the most part and I'm not too bad. Sam has only just got rid of a long term cough with antibiotics and now he has caught my cold  :(. Zac is doing what Sam's doing then, waking early and resettling, a sure sign that they're both not well rested enough  :'( If Sam woke early but felt fresh he would be shouting the roof off  :o to get up that's for sure. You do right to not shift the routine too much I think Sara, it can just send you spiralling off schedule for the week sometimes, so I really try to do the same these days.

Is so hard when they get older and more knowing. My foolproof ways to get Z to sleep with EW just don't work now ::) I'm dreading Z at Sams age, I know he will be trouble! Good luck today, if you go for EBT I hope he sleeps well!!

It is always 1 thing after another! He is still STTN though so I'm thankful for that. He usually doesn't wake moaning then resettle either like he did then wake again after 30 mins so we knew something was up. He was like a plank :( I suspect it could be too much food from yesterday as he was uncomfortable at BT as well with wind/gas. Today he is on a good eating plan ;)
