Well last night was a disaster.....she woke at 1.15am and didn't go back to sleep until 3.45am. She woke for the day at 7.15am. Yesterday went
Wake 7.15
Sleep 12.15
Wake 2.30
Bed 7.15 and she eventually fell asleep at 7.50/8pm I had to go back in.
She was happy as Larry in the middle of the night, wanting to play!!!
Will still so the 12 nap time today.......on so little sleep now I have a 40km cycle :(

oh hun :(

Well we can safely say she went from OT to UT then...

I would do nap at 12pm like you said but cap it at 2 hours max. After a 2 hour nap you may need to do 5.5 A time. I never let H sleep more than 2 hours. I think we may have to do some experimenting with that second A time. If she keeps swinging from UT to OT and back then we can probably say overall she needs a shorter nap but it is preventing the OT build up that is key.

So she didn't wake last night. And woke for the day at 6.40am....which is great!
Will do the 12 nap today and cap it at 2 hours and then 5 hours to bed.....or should I do longer?

It is likely that she will be pretty well-rested from a good night and a later start so I think a slightly longer a to bed would be a good idea.

Only got it now! So I did the 5 hours to bed and it took her 45mins to settle! Def ut!
Yest went
Wake 6.40
Sleep 12.30
Wake2.30 we woke her
Bed 7.15 (to fall asleep for 7.30)
Sleep 8 she cried out a numbe rof times over night, but I didn't have to go in. She woke fo rthe day at 6.20. Not a great night but at least she sttn.
If I do 5.5 to nap and then 5.5 to bed it makes my day longer. I need her awake at 6.30/7 in the morning.
So today I will do nap at 12 and hope she falls asleep then wake her at 2 and do the 5.5
Hours to bed or will I do 5 cause of the shortish night??

I think if she does a 2 hour nap for you then stick with the 5.5.

So today I put her down at 11.50 for her to be asleep at 12. She didn't fall asleep until 12.10 and woke at 1.35pm. I am guessing she was OT.
I will aim to have her in bed for 6.15pm and asleep for 6.30 which is 5 hours which I think is ok after a short nap and short night??

yes that sounds good. Def asleep for 6.30pm if you can do it. Those length naps were always OT for DS. xx

Agree - def go for EBT - even 6pm if she's struggling.

I agree OT atm & think yesterday the 5.5hrs was too much to BT after she'd already done almost 6hrs A to naptime.  All the NW's & the shorter night & of course the nap today are surefire signs.  We had this with O the other week when we pushed his nap out - he just couldn't cope with the long day.  Since then we've stuck at 5.5hrs in the AM & capped the nap at 2hrs.  For the PM, we started off with 5.5hrs, but he woke quite a few times overnight & seemed tired the next day so we actually shortened it to 5hrs & he's done that for the last week and a half & is faring much better.  Before Christmas I actually thought he needed more A time to BT than 5hrs, but it seems that the longer he has in the morning the less he needs before bed IYSWIM?

I found by this age that it was the total a time for the day that was relevant, so a long morning would mean that the afternoon had to be shorter. So if your total target a time for the day is 11h, then a 6h morning would need a 5h afternoon, but if the morning was only 5h then the afternoon would need to be 6.

So I had her in bed at 6.15 she didn't fall asleep until 6.50pm maybe even 7, I was in and out to her numerous times.
Se cried out a few times in the night and then woke for the day at 5.20am :( :( :(
So do I push to 12 or do 5.5 until her nap which would make it at 11? But if I get a short nap I get an early bed time and then an ew!!
