I wouldn't worry about balancing the day - my children have always been the other way around (long morning, short afternoon), but we got much better results without worrying about getting things balanced.

She went asleep at 6.40 so not too bad! Def the earlier the nap the longer it is! Yest she woke at 6.20 and she was in bed asleep at 11 and woke at almost 1. Had her in bed for the night at 6.20 asleep at 6.45 or there a bouts and woke at 6am. Do you think bed time is a little late? She def likes a longer afternoon a time.
Yest
Wake 6.20
Sleep 11
Wake almost 1pm
Sleep 6.20 bed asleep 6.45 ( do you think this is too late?)

Hun it sounds a lot like Z is ATM, but are more
WU 6.45 out of cot 7
Nap 11.30-2 or 12-2 if he sleeps in
BT 7.15/30 and he wil sometimes chat til 8.

I would try an earlier BT but if your like us and she is U she will just chat longer ::)

Great the short first A is working. Some kids just liked that way I guess.

I'm not sure that I would change it - 6.45-6.20 is actually a fantastic night and I doubt it will get any better by putting down earlier and I would have thought there is a big risk of ut bedtime stalling.

So was she crying at BT tonight???  That's quite a long A to BT after a 2hr nap & I learnt with O that 6hr+ A times to BT always meant OT.

So for him, having the nap pushed later has really helped prevent OT at BT & he always settles really well.  We aren't doing a monster A in the AM though - just 5.5hrs from WU.  Sorry to contradict folks, but I am just wondering if long term, 4.5hrs A in the AM is will be too short for her  & you might find it leads to more EW (speaking from experience here LOL!)

You may just need to try it for a week or so & see where it leads you.xx

^^ I agree that yo may just need to stick with one thing for 1 full week to see how it goes...yuo can give or take 15mins or so I always find, but as Claire says it may be the way to identify what is causing the EW....for some the short A does, for others it doesnt...It used too for us and now not  ::)

I also agree that BT sounds OT...unless she is coming down with something

So i think she is ot at bedtime but I think she makes herself ot by not falling asleep quickly!
Yesterday wake 6am
sleep 10.30
wake 12.30
bed 6.15 sleep about 7pm

Today she woke at 6.15am
Nap 10.45am
She is still sleeping now and it is almost 12

she def likes the short a time in the am - oh and just so you know any time after 6am is fine with us as dh gets up at 6.30 and he likes to have a little play with the kids in bed before he gets up! now how do i explain weekend lie in's to a 17month old ;)
