What a difference two nights make!

Friday night was the first night I really dedicated to eliminating nursing every time Allen woke up. He nursed at 7:30, then was asleep at 8:00. Nw number 1 was at 8:45, and I just bad to talk to him for a minute to resettle. Next nw was at 11:00, he needed pupd for 5 min. Up again at 12:00 and he had a good, long feed. Up again at 3:20, this one was harder. I had to pupd off and on for 40 min until he was deeply asleep. Up at 5:00, r min of pupd. Long nursing at 6:00, then up for the day at 8:00. Not nearly as bad as I was anticipating!

Last night was even better!  Nursed at 7:30 and asleep by 8:00. Once again be needed a little bit of talking at 8:45. He woke up briefly at 10:50 and 11:40. Both times, right when I decided it was time to go in and help, Allen fell asleep on his own!  I nursed him at 2:00, then he slept without a peep until 7:00.

A week ago, I couldn't imagine a night like this. I was dreading how difficult it was going to be and it wasn't that bad. Here's hopin tonight is even better!

Great one! Good work you!
Good luck for tonight, sometimes they regress a little on days 3-5 so hang in there if tonight is tough :-*

Things are continuing to go well. We're down to one, occasionally 2 nw where I nurse. The only downside is for 3 nights in a row, from 11:00 to midnight, Allen needs frequent resettling. Most of the time, I can just talk to him and he'll go back to sleep. Sometimes I have to pupd once or twice. However, he never goes really deep asleep. The slightest noise, like the ac kicking on, wakes him up again. This continues until 12:00 when I finally feed him. Any thoughts about what the cause of his is?  I'm wondering if it's just a case of the last nw being stubborn, or should I move up the nursing.

Today's easy:
7:45- a,e - nurse, solids
10:50 - nap 1.5 hr
12:20 - a,e - nurse and solids
2:00 - snack
3:40 - sleep 1 hr 5 min
4:45 - a, e - nurse, solids
7:30 - nurse
8:00 - asleep for the night

Have you tried W2S, itcould be a habitual wake? If your going too you just gently stir LO an hour before the typical wake ie 10. Don't wake, just make him twitch or move or sigh. Then cross your fingers. What this does is reset the sleep cycle. ;)

Things have been going great lately.  Allen is down to 2 nf, about midnight and 5:00am.  He occasionally has one other nw, but is easy to resettle back to sleep.  I think it is time to try to elminate one of the nursing sessions, but am not sure about the best way to go about it.

My first inclination is to try to push the first feeding to later.  For a few nights, not nurse before 1:00, then a few nights later, shift to not feeding before 2:00, continuing until all nw are gone.  My main concern with that is if I feed at 1:00am, then he wakes again at 6:00, he'll have an ew.  He usually goes to bed at 8:00, and is happiest with 11.5 hrs of sleep.  However, if he wakes after 10 hrs of sleep, he's up for the day.

My other thought is to try to split the difference between the two feedings and not nurse before 2:30am.  However, that seems like a big change.

Any advice?  Thanks in advance.
