Good Morning, ZacsMumme! and thanks a lot for the support!

Well after yesterday's 9:40pm asleep time she woke up at 3:40am ( at 12:30 she cried out but settled herself)  and drunk 3oz of formula with cereal (I added cereal to see if she would sleep longer after that).

Then she woke up at 6am and  didnt want any milk. Seemed like she wa ready to get up but also a bit sleepy. Anyway I tried to make sleep a bit longer and a bit reluctantly she fell back asleep until 7:30.

I am not breastfeeding, just stopped few days ago. Wonder if that could be the reason she started sleeping better?

Will post easy at the end of the day.

UP 7:30
E
A
S 10:45-12:10
E
A
S 3-4:40  (I was planning 4:30 nap, but she was so ready for nap at 3 and fell asleep straight away. Now I dont know what to do when I have school run.

BT 8pm (fell asleep in 20mins, seemed a bit overtired or not wound down properly)  might have done better with 7:40 BT.

Todays day would have been ideal, with all A times roughly 3h, But I have school run getting in the way. Urgh!
Both naps she woke happy. First nap she could have probably slept longer, but neighbour started drilling the wall !!

Personally I doubt the change in Bf to Bottle would make a difference. If anything I wold have thought it can cause an upset tummy of your LO isn't used to formula  :-\
That day sounds great. The good news is I think your L should be easily be able to do 3.5 hrs once that OT is caught up so you could push that middle nap gently out to 3.30 over the next week or so.

LO is very sick since yesterday. Started with eye infection from her cousin, so the night before this she was waking frequently after midnight. This night she took very long to resettle due to still having eye infection plus very runny nose, cough, and very obvious painful theeting. Had to give her ibuprofen on one waking  and paracetamol on other. Went to bed last night about 9pm (had late nap 5:30-6pm) but could not sleep until 9:40 when I gave her ibuprofen.

then woke at 10:30 crying, resettled with cuddles and dummy, she didnt want milk

I expected her to wake every hour but the next time she woke was 3:30 and she didnt resettle until 4:30 after I gave her paracetamol and some milk (she didnt want any really).

Then she woke at 7am, was still looking very sleepy,  but couldnt fall back to sleep due to blocked nose and cough, was lying on me and all around bed fussing and trying to sleep until 8:30. Then we got up.

Had nap 10-11:40
Now is sleeping again from 14:00, as couldnt stay awake any longer was very cranky..

Is it ok to let her sleep often as she is sick?

and also how long does teething last normally? I mean per tooth :)

HUGS - Does your LO have anything for the eye infection to help it clear up?
When my Lo is sick I always throw routine out the window and keeping it in mind let him guide me as to when and how long to sleep for. They ned more sleep when sick to fight the bugs.

Teething can go on and on and on ::) But generally for us anyway the cutting phase for the front teeth can take up to a week.

These are the top upper theeth coming through and its a nightmare!
Red cheeks, constantly runny nose which also makes her cough, very cranky and fussy almost non stop.
She only has 2 bottom teeth so far and with those we only had disturbed nights but days were absolutely fine.
Its so strange. With my elder daughter I never went through this, she was dribling a lot but no disturbed nights at all.

Anyway, will hold on in there. hopefully it will pass soon and then I can get back to getting her back on shcedule.

No she doesnt have any medicine for eyes as doctor said she is too little,so I have to keep wiping it with boiled water. She didnt seem too bothered by this infection though, unlike this teething.

I have to give ger dummy and cuddle her to almost fall asleep on my chest, cause she seems in so much pain. I hope it will not become a prop.

Top front two were the worst for us so far as they are big teeth and seem to really hurt before they come through too (only have the top 4 and bottom 4 incisors though) Are you medicating before naps and BT for the pain?

I only give medicine if she cant fall asleep without it. Probably about 3 times per day max. Do you know by any chance what is best for teething, ibuprofen or paracetamol?

Anyway, it seems like teething is over. Well, at least the severe symptoms of it. But she still has very bad cough and runny nose and eye infection which I am now treating with drops (Dr changed her mind).

Her sleep still was not as bad as before. Even thugh she is sick she still slept at least one 4hour stretch, which before never happened. I am still confused what actually helped her to start sleeping better.

One problem I have is that she woke 6:50 today for the day. This is very early for her. She always used to wake up 8:30am (BT 8) sometimes 8:10 am. Always past 8.  It started to change to 8 and then 7:30 over the past 5weeks.

In addition to that she refused naps yesterday despite being sick. She only had two 30 mins naps. One at 11 and one at 2pm. BT was 7pm but due to coughing very badly she couldnt sleep until about 8pm. Then woke few times during night for feed and for comfort (she had few oz at 10pm and 2am) she ate very poorly during the day and even before bed, so def needed it.

My question is why is she starting to refuse naps? and why EW? Are these connected? Could she be OT, UT or 2-1 change? I am just confused what is causing it and what my action should be.

During first two days of feeling sick (main discomfort was teething) she was very tired  and ready for nap after 1.5 hrs A time. The third day had about 2.5 to 3 hrs A time and the forth refused naps and only napped for 30mins (think due to cough not letting her sleep, but then she didnt seem to sleepy afterwards). God, I am just confused.

Do you have any idea? Many thanks in advance.

Yes I tend to only give it before Zss nap and BT when I know he wont be able to settle without it. Personally I find ibuprofen works better for teething - for us.

I suspect she is in a UT/OT loop. Ut from short A but OT by BT from short naps or cumulated from short nights. Until she is well a routine will be hard to get her into...but my suspician is she needs more A time and one nap capped to get a good nights sleep.

What is her EASY like ATM?

today it was:

UP:6:50

Nap 10-12.20 (but she was waking up due to bad cough so I was resettling her about 3-4 times)

Nap 3:40-4:30 (didnt go down for the nap easily.was trying to put her down from 3:15. She was kind of wound up crawling restlessly around and didnt want to lie down but also fussing and rubbing her eyes. Is it OT or UT?

Again very interupted napby cought went about 3-4 times at 4:30 she was still sleepy but also upset about all the coughing and didnt settle anymore.

Now will be putting her to bed 7:30 to give her 3hrs A time.

will see how tonight goes

I was thinking to aim for an EASY like this: UP 8am, 11-13 am nap, and 4-4:45 pm nap, BT:8pm. (If she wakes at 7am I will still have to wait till 11am,would that be ok?)

Then I will extend first A time from 3hrs first to 3.5hrs then to 4 moving first nap to 12:00 - 14:00 and making pm nap 5-5:30; BT 8:30/9pm (until I eliminate pm nap)

Eventually I aim to be on 12-15:00 nap and 7:30 BT (8am UP)

Does this look ok?

Looks good, but after a 45min nap I would bring the next a time forward a bit - maybe 3hrs max and see how she goes.

Then all you have to do (over the next few months) is push that first nap out closer to 4/4.5hrs A time, and eventually cap the PM nap to 20/30mins with earlier BT and jump to 1 nap ;)sounds easy doesnt it :P ::) I would check out the suppor thread sticky on the Naps board. I found this a great thread when I was in the transition.

Poor wee thing, until she is well I would just go with the flow :-*
