I know E is a toddler but this is defense a prop issue I need help with.

We found out today that there's a good chance that E has sleep apnea. She is almost blocked from her nose which has lead to tons of nw's because she can't breathe well enough with her paci. I don't know when she'll have her adenoids removed as we don't even have an ENT appt yet so the paci has to go :(.

She has fallen asleep without it before so I know she can do it I'm co-sleeping once she wakes at night just so we can get some sleep. BBut I don't want to become the new lovey iykwim. She has a bear she loves so I'm thinking of bringing that in for the cuddles. For the most part she will go to sleep independently, but I do usually rock her because I want to, so I think I'll keep that up with the bear and keep this as gentle as possible.

I've done the Pantley's Gentle Removal Plan

I just ditched the paci with DD1(26 months) about 2 weeks ago, it had got to the point that she had that paci in her mouth all day everyday but at night she would take it out and put it under her pillow. So I told her about the paci fairy, took them away that night( she got presents in the morning) and so far so good. She does ask for it but understands that she will not be getting it back.

This post answered what i posted in your other thread about dd video. No real adviceon the paci. Neither of my LO have been paci lovers even though I was addicted  to it as a child. My mum went cold turkey with me.
But I think pp sounds like a good plan!

I don't think at 21 months she would get the fairy. I did have a thought to cut the nubbin off of them all and tell her they were broken.

We ditched @ 26 months.  We talked about how we were giving our paci to baby's that needed them but I don't think she will get that either.  It was still a long road b/c dd is very stubborn about things.  She still cries out when you leave her room but she can and does sleep without it she just needs a little more reassurance.  I would either cut the nub's off or just start wind down with the bear and if she ask's for it show it to her and say its broken we have to throw them out or don't show them and just tell her they are lost?  Sorry I am not much help but we did do it cold turkey and it did suck for awhile after.  Good luck!

Well, night one went far better than I thought. I needed it to put her to sleep but took it out right away. When she woke she didn't ask for it but cried when I tried to get her back to sleep. Bear-Bear got tossed across the room ::) so she was definitely not impressed. Then she went to sleep much faster than she usually does with a paci. And she slept straight through to 715 ;D. Mind you I was in the bed with her but she definitely did better being able to breathe through her mouth.

Thanks for the tips everyone. FX tonight goes as well.

Bedtime for night two was the first night she went down witout it since she was five days old ;D

I rocked her as per normal and getting a little drowsy, she got a really confused look on her face and lifting her hand to articulate herself, asked: "where soother go?". I had a giggle and explained that it broke. "oh," she said. And went to sleep lol.

Lets just hope tonight's nw goes as well.
