Reducing OZ's when starting Solids?? HELP
« on: February 26, 2012, 22:26:48 pm »
I know the main source of nutrition is milk for the first year so my q is when offering the solid meal which will be 1x day I will be doing it after the 11 am feed we are on a 4 hr easy with 5-7 1/2 oz bottles Should I wait a 1/2 hr-45 mins then offer solid and still give the full 7 1/2 oz l/o drinks at that 11 am feed? Also when do you increase to 2 meals per day?

Yes - offer the full normal size feed and then solids 45/60 mins afterwards as part of yuor A time! When you offer a second "meal" is up to you, but there's no rush, give it a week or so on 1 meal to see how it's going.

HTH!

I would do it at 4pm before you eat to be honest, he will only be having a couple of teaspoons and you don't want solids to interfer with his bedtime bottle.

I had forgotton how old your LO is - he is still very young to be starting solids, as close to 6 months as possible is the general guidelines so I would leave that 2nd meal for a good few weeks - you really don't need to rush things.
