Things have been going well!  We haven't had a night feeding for almost a week now, and when he does wake at night he can resettle himself.  We've had a few EW and I think it's on the days he's asleep closer to 7 than 6:40ish.  We also had daylight savings so we've all been adjusting.

Every now and then we're getting short afternoon naps, though.  I have been waking him at 45 min from the AM nap and then putting him down for the PM nap always around the same time.  He chats for a bit and then goes to sleep, but wakes quite unhappy around 45/50 min.  If I try PD he refuses and I end up pulling him close to 3 for a BF.  Do you suspect this is b/c he's closing in on the 2 to 1 nap switch?  I try for an earlier BT on these days, but I wonder if I should try capping the AM nap even more?  I hate to lose that 45 min. to get life put away around the house!!  BUT - I do love the 2hr afternoons when both kids are down.  :)  Just wondering what your take might be.

Thanks for the support with the night waking.  It feels so good to know we taught him something so valuable as falling asleep on his own.

Great news on the nights. What is your EASY like ATM? I suspect he is just a touch UT or OT for that PM nap ;)

Our EASY is sort of
6/6:30 he wakes up, talking
7 BF
8 solids
9:45/10 nap (we cap at 45 min from when he falls asleep)
11 BF
12 solids
1:30/45 nap (let him sleep as long as he wants)
BF after the nap (might be 3, might be 4)
5:45ish solids
BT routine, trying for BT at 6:30 if the PM nap was short, otherwise it's around 7

Same EASY as we've been working with.  So hard to find the magical moment for a good long nap!

COuld be OT, I would def try reducing that second A time 15 mins first and see if he sleeps more soundly...if not then maybe you need an A increase OR to cap that AM nap at 30mins :-\ How old is he now?

10 months - today's afternoon nap was about 1 1/2 hrs, so much better.  I put him down around the same time but his morning nap had been earlier so it was a bit longer A time.  He was a little more cranky, so I think he was good and tired.  He also went down still earlier for bed tonight and had no problems.  I think I'll see if increasing that second A time works for now.

Ah, that didn't go so well!  I forgot that Wednesday is Library day, so my DH takes the two kids to story time.  My baby slept out and about for about 30 min my DH said, from 10:15-10:45.  I should have put him down later for his nap but he was crabby yesterday.  He had a short one again, but easy BT and great night.

Today he had about 30 min. morning nap again and I def. pushed his A time too much.  He was so OT for nap that he cried and cried bloody murder.  He fell asleep 1 hr after I tried to get him down and I know it won't be too restful.  Looks like we're in for an early BT!

Hopefully tomorrrow we can get this sorted out a bit - I have to remember that if he has that shorter am nap I need to not lengthen his A time - but keep to our usual old naptime.  I'll see if that helps.

Thanks for your support!

Hugs, you can even bring the nextvA forward if you think he needs a shorter A after a shorter nap ;)
Good luck for today

Today's nap is going better - morning was short, so A time was just 3 hrs.  He passed the 1 hr mark so that's good.  I'll keep my eyes on the clock with him as he does seem to get so overworked with just a tad too much A time.  I'll be back again, I'm sure!!
