5 month old wont take much n the morning
« on: March 08, 2012, 08:46:53 am »
Hello

Looking for some advice please with my 5 month old boy, he has never really been a hungry buy but has recently started to not take much in the morning usually 2oz when he wakes about 6am, I have a feeling this could just be him but I am worried he is not getting enough milk (he weighs 16lbs) have posted my easy and wondered if anyone can see something I am missing, or possibly see why he is waking at night (besides the obvious hunger due to not taking enough during the day) thanks....

Wake 6ish most mornings give or take

E - 6.30 2oz
A
S - 8.30 - 10ish

E - 10.30 3oz
A
S - 12.30
Y

E - 2.30 7oz
A
S - 5 ish 30 -40 min cat nap

Bath time play
6.30 - 7oz - bed

11.00 dream feed 3 - 7oz

Sometimes he will sleep through some times he wakes at random times between 2 and 5 if he wakes he usually takes 7 oz but not always sometimes he wakes and just cries for an hour and isn't hungry at all (he is very much a baby who will eat if he is hungry and if not he will just refuse!

I know I probably shouldn't be worrying but my daughter stuck to easy like it was designed by her & was weaned at 5 month. I'm guessing that as my boy isn't interested in milk weaning should definitely wait till 6 months!

Thanks in advance for any responses
Lucy

I cannot comment on the ounces as I never bottle fed.  As far as the EASY is concerned, you may want to increase his A time a bit, working towards 2.25-2.5 hours, that could help with the night wakings.  One feed at night is not unusual at this age.

I'm sure more eyes will be along for the feeding...
