Waking 3-4 times before dream feed
« on: March 12, 2012, 07:45:34 am »
Our 20 week old is waking up 3-4 times before her dream feed. It has happened every night for the last 10 days.

It started happening just after we got her to sleep through the night (she was snacking in the day so we followed Tracy's advise - tanked her up through out the evening feeding at 7, 9 & 11pm and then not feeding until the morning).

Last night she woke at 8:15pm, 9pm & 9:50pm. We can get her back to sleep in her cot but it feels like she never achieves deep sleep.

She is on an EASY schedule and has been since she was 8 weeks. We have been transitioning her to a 4hr schedule - most feeds now around every 3-4 hours. Here is her Easy schedule from yesterday. She is exclusively breastfed.

E 6:45am (17mins)
S 8:45 (1.5 hrs)
E 10:44 (15mins)
S 12:30 (1.5hrs)
E 2:25pm (13 mins)
S 4:30pm (40 mins)
E 5:12pm (13 mins)
Top up 6:30pm (11 mins)
Dream feed 11pm (18 mins)

The only other thing I would add is that husband used to give her a bottle of expressed breastmilk at bedtime instead of me feeding her but expressing it every day started getting a bit of a pain so I steadily decreased it and increased her feed time on me instead that was about 10 days ago.

Anyone have any ideas on how we can stop these frequent wakings in the evening??

What times BT Hun?
Her day looks good. I wonder if se is OT at BT. Could you do 1 feed just before 6 instead of 5/6.30 and do a slightly earlier BT?
