*hugs*  Any chance it might be an ear infection?  DS screamed awfully when he had one.

Oh no.

Have you tried to express at all to check you have milk? I don't mean pump, just a quick squeeze to check you are producing milk!

I hope she is more settled now? x

I never thought about an ear infection :-\ Neither of my kids has ever had one. She doesn't have a temperature at all though :-\ I will keep an eye on it. Thanks!

I can't get anything pumping but I haven't been able too since she was 2 months old ::) However, if I just squeeze, some does come out. So I know there is *something* but in all fairness my supply ran out with DS (he was very obviously not satisfied anymore and wasn't gaining weight) and I could still squeeze some out over a year after I stopped nursing him :-\

Maybe she's having a weird growth spurt??? I just don't know why she's not really nursing but then isn't happy :( :-\

Have you tried having a bath with her and seeing if she'll latch when relaxed and the opportunity is there?

Hugs!

(((hugs))) I just got a little caught up here!  :'(

You haven't changed deodorant, perfume, lotion/body wash, etc. recently have you? Sometimes certain scents make ME want to scream!  ;) And some give me an instant headache (and that's no joke! :().

Just a thought.

Hmm....interesting though Val. I never use body lotion or anything scented because I personally can't stand the scent......however...last night, I did a manicure scrub thing in the shower and used a hemp had lotion afterwards. This was probably about an hour before she woke up :-\

Having a bath is a good idea. I can't really do that unless it's a middle of the night scream fest. But it certainly might work in the MOTN.

Nope. I brought both kids into the dr a few weeks ago because they both had colds and Nathan said his ear hurt, and they both had ear infections. Anna was not herself (cranky, sleeping even less than usual, not nursing well) but no fever. Kinda glassy eyes, though. Might be worth looking into.

Hugs Jenn, this sucks!!! (Not pun intended)

No, ear infections don't always have fevers.  They also tend to be worse when they're laying down (something to do with fluid...)

And it doesn't have to be an infection - even just fluid in the ear can cause extreme discomfort.

When DS had an ear infection he screamed so badly just about all night for a whole weekend.  Was just awful.  And yes, often ear problems feel worse when lying down as, I imagine, fluid (or generally nastiness) would be pushing up again the inside of a potentially already inflamed eardrum.  So nursing may be uncomfortable both because of the laying down position, but also the sucking action.

Might be worth getting checked out :-*

Sorry I can't remember if we've asked this, but could this be teething related? It's harder to suckle at the breast than a bottle! Have you tried giving her pain meds?
