So back from the doctor and nothing is up with her ears right now so that's good! But...I asked to have her weighed because I am supposed to send her weight to her Ped and dietician each month and I havent done it for 6 weeks ::) Anyways, she has lost 2 oz :( Now I know that's not much and it is on a different scale then last time so it can be a bit off. So now I wait to her from the pediatrician.

I have tried meds for teething and it hasn't made a difference, however, I do think she is teething!

Good to hear that her ears are fine!  :) Sorry about the weight loss, though.  :-\ How long ago was she weighed?

How has she been acting today? Last night?

6 weeks ago she weighed 15lbs. Now she's lost 2oz. I don't know!!! The Ped hasn't gotten back to me and the dietician is on holidays. The Ped has been...gently nudging...me to switch to formula so not sure what she's going to think of this!

Is she moving around a lot more now than she was before?  Could easily account for some weight loss especially in combination with the nursing strike (I think I'll carry on calling it that for now, if you don't mind :) )

She is moving a lot more! So that's what I am hoping for also. It's just SO different then with Ethan that I cannot help worrying ::)

The bigger D gets, the more I realise that she is so different to her brother :-*

Yeah, I was going to say movement too, in combination with eating less. If M had been born after her brother J I would've been terrified because he ate a lot more than she did and he was so much heavier than she was, and yet she is perfectly healthy (as is he ;))
Sam's ped said that it's very normal to see less of a gain when they start being more active.  :-*
Well, don't worry about being nudged to formula (unless you want to). You can keep on giving more solids while still nursing. Just gotta figure out what's making her resist that, as of late!  ;)

The pediatrician said shes okay with her weight loss ATM. She wants me to weigh her again in two weeks and let her know the weight. So I'm glad she's not freaking out!

My concern now, is that she isn't getting milk in the day. She's frustrated at the breast, sucking then pulling off, biting, etc. and now screaming hungry 20 minutes later. I keep offering the breast. Same thing happens. Then she pigs out on solids.

I am really starting to believe my supply has dropped during the day. The only positive right now is, she is back to taking the breast decently during the night and I don't even want to say how many times I am feeding her at night ::) So she seems to be getting some milk overnight.

So what do I do? I'm worried about her replacing milk with solids during the day.

Ok, well women drop all NF's (or the baby does, rather) and their supply is still fine so long as they're feeding during the day, right? Well, why can't you do the opposite right now until you get this figured out? Sounds like you're feeding a ton at night, so I'm betting your breasts have just kind of switched am/pm. Wdyt?

If you feed her, say, at 8, 11, 3, and 7? That would be 4 good feedings.

:P Just what I would do.

But eventually she's going to give up on feeding at night...I hope! Lol. So my worry is if she isn't getting daytime milk, and then starts dropping her night feeds, she won't be getting many nutrients from milk at all and at I think, a fairly young age. Especially given her adjusted age.

Hahaha, well I know! I only meant while you get the daytime feedings back going somehow.

I love that you have complete faith in her ability to STTN now, though!  ;) :-*

Heck, Joshua did NOT drop all feedings, and at 16 months I had to give the job to my non-lactating dh. Worked like a charm!  8) Started STTN within a few days.   ::)

Ahh! Gotcha Val! By this age Ethan had given up NFings. He Didn't and still doesn't STTN. Ethan also weighed more then she does now when he was 3 months old ::) I DO have faith that she will sleep through the night ;) It gets me through another night ::)

I know that's right!  ;D I have faith that someday Samuel will, but I don't expect it until he's one basically. If he's still waking at that age we'll work on it. ;) In the meantime, I will happily take 4-5 hour stretches when he's good enough to oblige.  ::)

How has Emily been feeling today?

Ugh it's all the same. She hates me during the day and wants nothing to do with nursing. Then night time comes and she snacks all night. Her appetite for solids is huge right now.

Should I start supplementing her days or how long can a nursing strike last? I have been pumping a few times a day and only getting drops. It's getting old in a hurry and that's with DH here. Not sure how I will manage to do it when he's gone on Monday.
