What are the symptoms of egg intolerace/allergy in a BF baby?

Question as title.
DD3 has "colic" and I suspect she has reacted to cow's milk protein in my BM as I was dairy free for 10 days with some improvement (although ups and downs) then had some milk and she got really really bad, screamed almost all her waking time for 3 days, then improved a bit again and now we're about 12 days dairy free but have had some really bad episodes. After the "milk-accident" on day 10 of dairy free, it took about 8 hrs from me having the dairy til she started reacting to it.
The last few days she has had two bad screaming episodes (inconsolable crying lasting several hrs each) about 8 hrs after me having egg. I just thought of it and then a mum at playgroup said they often get rashes with egg intolerance/allergy, and she has had a rash coming a couple of days ago too. All over her face, neck and chest. She's had this before too, at two weeks she was covered. I'm just wondering if anyone has more info about egg intolerance and some advice on how to proceed. I've also noticed she gets a stuffy, blocked nose with snot a lot. Perhaps a cold but it's been worse around the same time as the rashes No idea if it could be food intolerance related or a viral rash and a cold

{{{hugs}}}  We didn't pick up on Spencer's egg allergy until she ate some of it when she was about 7/8 months old...although she did have ezcema and odd rashes as a baby, but I always attributed that to dairy as I am not a big egg eater, but then I suppose it could have been that.  Is cutting out eggs for a bit a possibility?  That way you can have some and see what the reaction is to it after having been egg free for a bit.

I would take it out your diet for a couple of weeks and see how she is.

Hey Vick! DD had an allergy to egg when I was BFing. She had a nasty itchy rash on her face and head. It used to appear 2-3days after I had eaten it, so it was tricky to spot on my elimination diet. We were advised to go egg free until 18mths old. Then she tested ok and no probs since. We even had to delay her MMR as it has egg traces. Hugs for you both

Hugs. The other thing I wanted to ask about not to add more stress but the possibility of soy. If I remember correctly 40% of los who have an issue with dairy also have an issue with soy.

But if you're thinking egg for sure, like pp's have said go with egg free for a few weeks and see how she is.

I know this is hard but you can do it.

I'm pretty sure I had egg yesterday as had some (milk-free) cake at playgroup, thinking I could spoil myself a bit as it was dairy free. Realised it probably had eggs in it though (chocolate cake) and DD had a really bad evening and more congestion and snot through the night..

So for egg, is tummy pain, gassiness and crying/screaming symptoms, as well as a rash? Andi, did A have any other symptoms apart from the rash?

Vicki, I've been doing soy free for 2 weeks now justin case, but thanks for the thought.
And a Q for those who know about soy, does soy lecithin have to be avoided too?

Vicku  I was told to avoid it It's in a lot of foods and I used it to prevent blocked ducts.

I meant to add that you described E perfectly with that behaviour only we never did find the cause as she was always fine with eggs. But it definitely sounds like she's got an issue with them.

The other thing I wanted to mention was it was pointed out to me that when you're on an ED make sure you get a variety of foods. When you drop one food it's common to substitute another and eat a lot more of that instead answer that can sometimes overload your lo.

I also found soy in the almond milk I had been drinking for a while. That stuff is everywhere! I had a list of common milk ingredients as they appear on packaging and kept it on my phone. Will try to find that list for you.

That pretty much covers it for us, the last time she had some (maybe a year and a half ago) baked into cookies she turned bright red all over and had tummy pains and diarrhea later on.

I'm already finding it hard to know what to eat/cook for dinner. I really am terrible and doesn't enjoy cookin AT ALL, so it will be a challenge... But I'll happily do it for my little girl just got to figure out how

Dinners weren't so bad here but I found sacking a real challenge. Homemade soups frozen ahead are a great failsafe . Spaghetti is a great one as are stews and a lot of meals with rice. Coconut milk is a great substitute for both cooking and baking, and ever since all this started I've replaced margarine in most baked goods with oil. Applesauce is a great egg replacement when baking as well.

There's tons of recipes here and a lot of us who have BTDT with an ED so feel free to ask anything

I don't enjoy cooking/baking either...but at least I just have to come up with stuff for Spencer and not myself!  She is gluten free as well, which adds another dimension.  Applesauce is my usual egg replacer too.

Hi Vick! No other confimed symptoms apart from severe itchy rash. I hated my EDiet as I had to keep off onion, garlic and coffee too! It gave A terrible colic/cramps about an hour post BF. Food was so bland for 6mths! Couldnt even tolerate traces of onion - so no stock either!

And ideas for sandwiches?? I'm geting sick of ham and mustard which is the only thing I can think of without dairy or egg.
