3-2 nap transition? Pushing A times!
« on: March 28, 2012, 01:49:37 am »
Hi!
I posted in the 3-2 transition? :)
Don't know if it was an old thread so either way i posted here ;)

I'm going to try and keep this short. I'll start w his EASY before the 2 teeth, the "getting up in his crib from a laying position" milestone, AND crawling- backwards now...heck of a long month ;) ...are u sure there is no sleep regression at 6mths? :D

E 7
A
S 8:30/9:00

E 10:30/11:00
A
S 12:30/1:00

E 3:00/4:00
A
S (cn-until recently) 5:00/5:30

BT : 8/9 (recently)

So as I wrote above, he cut 2 bottom teeth QUICKLY, learned to get up frm a laying position (6 long days of horrible sleep n crankiness ah!) ...and now crawling, backwards :P ...

Here's the thing. He's waking from his nap late to where if I cn it pushes his bt too late. I've been trying it and also not worth the fight or he tks forever to sleep anyway or just hangs out ;) in the crib.

Basically I have been trying to push his A times, generally the one after his first nap. I can't do the morning one yet, I've tried and he short naps me. But I feel he still needs it bc it's a long stretch to his bt frm the 2nd nap. It's causing him ot by bt and ew.

Advice? I don't want to push him but I feel it's my only option Aaah.

Help? :)
Fabi

Driving me nuts!? I don't want to CIO. But he cries or just stays up for over an hr.
He's very touchy n when he's mad....agh very hard to settle. I mk it worse prb.

Help w tht too would be GREAAAT! :(

You need to push that first A time ;)

It needs to be closer to 3 hrs before you can drop the CN...

What do you think is his average total day sleep?  It should be around 3.5 4 hrs for the 3-2 to work for you :)

Well laaaaaately,
His first nap is going a little past 2hrs. (hmm?)

The 2nd nap about 1.5? More or less.

I can't push tht first A time! :(
I've tried and I get short napped. Ahh!

So maybe he's not ready yet. Any idea how to keep tht cn, and a reasonable bt?

And any reason y he's waking 2-3hrs right after bt? Like a nap? Something is going on and he's waking every 3hrs. Most times he whines for a sec n goes back to sleep. But his nights haven't been this bad before. Lately he's SUPER ot. I mean, it's sad to see his face, he's eyes r so puffy and red frm all the rubbing :(

I have read about "separation anxiety"? But I don't knw. His days are "ok" ....but evn w great day sleep, his nights r randomly off when he's usually been pretty good about nights.

It's tht first A time tht I can nvr push. Prb bc his off nights? Suggestions? :(

I know you don't want to hear this but you HAVE to push his first A time... he is in an UT/OT loop again.

I don't think the NWing is OT hun, it's UT at bedtime.  He is using that first nap to finish his night sleep as well... it's too soon after he wakes.

The short naps could simply be an adjustment to the new A time... mine always had a week of weird naps after a big A time increase.

Baah. No he's ot for sure at bt bc he's been skipping his cn and going too long of an A time before bt. He stays awake 3+ before he falls asleep. It's not like a gradually increased tht. It was like a big jump so I kno and can tell he's ot. Also bc if I pat, he's out in seconds.

I did push his A time today, his a.m one....and he napped 2hrs still, so we can be on to something here ;) I'll keep adding to it

Btw, any idea why he's waking just 2-3hrs after I pd for bt? He's NEVER done tht? He's not really having short naps. Here and there though but it was awful! But I just feel he's headed twds 3-2 for sure bc it's not fitting and he just fights it. For awhile.

Btw, any idea why he's waking just 2-3hrs after I pd for bt?

OT can cause early night wakes for many bubbas!  Mine is somewhat immune so I always forget about them!

Good that his nap was still awesome after a longer morning A time!  How far did you manage to push him?  I would try 15 mins every 3 days or so... just to get him to at least 2 hrs 45 mins :)
