Major nap regression in 12 month old
« on: March 28, 2012, 15:16:52 pm »
New to this forum, and hoping for some ideas for my nap-challenged 12 month old.  She has been a champion sleeper (both night and day) since we "trained" her using the pick-up/put-down method at about 5.5 months.  Until 3 weeks ago she was sleeping 7-7 or 7-6 at night, and then 930-1030 (approx) and 130-330 (approx) during the day most days.  For the past 3 weeks, she has been napping for 30-45 minutes at a time, at most!  I have tried everything -- putting her down earlier, later, waking her up earlier in the morning, giving her only one nap, etc., but nothing seems to be working.  And she wakes up from her naps screaming and still exhausted (rubbing her eyes, yawning, etc.), whereas she used to wake up happy-as-a-clam and play by herself for 20-30 minutes at the end of each nap.  I'm going crazy!  Any ideas for me?  Thanks so much!

I didn't think so as she wasn't displaying the typical teething signs, but today when she woke up screaming (after a half hour nap), I gave her some homeopathic teething meds, and she went back to sleep.  Maybe that's the answer!

Thanks!

Hugs, I found teething at this age hard as the molars can be moving and causing discomfortand irritability but not actually cutting or LO displaying 'typical' teething signs
