Yea definitely do that hun.  I think this is still an overtired nap & that perhaps his AM A time is still too long.  Today was 6.5hrs right?  I'd say you need it 5.5hrs max.  And some EBT's.  Good luck for tonight hun.x

Aww I'm sorry I missed this hun, I had the page open ready to reply before I left early this morning and somehow forgot to press send.

That was a fab night, I bet he was in a better mood this morning?  Even though he is still waking for the day early (before 6am) he has still had 11.5hours sleep - all we need to do now is get the timing of the nap right then slowly everything forward a little until you are on a bit more sensible 7-7 day or whatever suits you.

Shame he didn't nap too long :-(  I agree it was a long A - ideally that may be when you want your nap to start but not until he's waking a little later and can manage such a long morning!  What happened when he woke?  You should start leaving him 20mins when he wakes from each nap so that he knows it was a little early.  After a few tries he may surprise you and go back to sleep.  Does he have the fan on for his nap too to help him transition back over when he stirs after his hour?

I would say put him to bedtime about 5.50-5.5.55 aiming to have him sleeping by 6pm.  You need to keep these early bedtimes until he is napping well and the OT is gone. I hope tonight is a good night too x

If he wakes at 5am keep him in bed until 6am. ignore him if he isn't crying or try to AP him back to sleep if he's crying or just stay with him to soothe him until 6am.  I wouldn't start the nap any earlier than 11 for now otherwise it might encourage the EW.  Claire has more experience with this than me re the A times and will probably answer soon!

(((hugs))) hun.  It is difficult with a super early WU b/c like stardust says, you don't want to encourage the EW, BUT you also want to get rid of the OT.  I don't think I'd pull the nap much earlier than 11am though.  You want to avoid it going much earlier than 11.30am if you can help it.

So TBH if I got a WU that early I'd probably do a 2 nap day with a teensy AM catnap of just 10 mins at 9/9.30 just to keep him going until lunchtime for his big nap.

Is v dificult to keep him in bed when he EW as he shouts and points at the door. I tried wi/wo once and he shouted 4an hr! Even bringing him to our bed is no gd as he will BF then climb out of bed and walk off. I also dont like 2wake DS1 in the morning, so getting him up is better! If he is up superearly (like 5am) Wud it b bettr 2do 2naps, or do nap at 11? Will be back in the am no doubt! Thanks again ladies! Xx

Hugs hun - agree with Claire.  I use the 10 min CN if I get a stupid o'clock wake up.  Like today ;)

Yay for the long night!  If you get a CN I'd probably do somewhere between 2-3hrs A time after it.  At 15months my DS could easily do 3, but watch him closely as you don't want to go too early & him be UT, or too late & him be OT!

If he doesn't then yes do the nap at 11am.  I think in another few days you will be able to start gradually pushing everything later.

xx

How was last night?  Did you do bedtime at a more normal time since he managed a good afternoon nap? xx
