So 11.30am nap again today? What do you think of sticking with a morning A time around 5.5hrs for 3 days and then pushing it out to 5hrs 45mins to see if we can move her day on a bit?

Yeah that sounds good. We had a bit of a nap disaster today as we had our 12 week scan for 8.50am this morning and LO fell asleep at 10.15am on the way home and only slept 35mins. I'm hoping she might fall asleep in the buggy when i go into town soon but if not i'll do 6.00pm bedtime and hope for the best.

I actually don't go out on a morning before her nap if possible for this reason lol. x

Hi Jem88

I've been reading your posts, and we seem to be having similar problems to you, very early starts.  It's also become apparent to me that my ds doesn't need as much sleep during the day, otherwise he ends up with shorter nights, as with you though it's a case of having to do trial and error.  But I just read your post about not going out in the mornings incase lo goes to sleep and we're exactly the same! The things us mums do, do to try and get a good night!

Good luck with yours, you're not alone! x

I remember that stage well! Trying to avoid car/buggy naps is such a pain. But it does get easier, I promise!

What I used to do was wake them after 10mins. That way they would still take a decent nap around the usual time later. If I let them sleep we'd get a short nap of 30-45mins and it would be enough to result in PM nap refusal ::)

Hope you managed to get a catnap in :)

I'm hoping today doesn't give us a bad night. She napped from 10.15am till about 11ish - and was awake the whole time after that until now, she's just gone to sleep at 6.00pm. I'm also hoping even if we have a bad night it might give us a 6.30am wake up as when she was in bed early sometime last week she slept in an extra 30mins. *fingers crossed lol.*  x

Eeeek.. We had a good night with only 2 wake ups, the first 40mins after going to bed and the 2nd 4hr50mins, she was up for the day at 5.20am, i was really hoping for a 6.00am wake up atleast. though she did a 4hr50min stretch and then a 5.5hr stretch so not too bad.

Will try this today:

5.20am - up.
11.00am - nap A time 5hr 40mins.
12.30pm - up. 1.5hr
6.30pm - Bed A time 6hr.

Not too bad! Pity about the early start though :( Definitely need to start pushing that nap out once you get a later WU.

Arghh i had to go out again this morning and LO fell asleep about 10.40am til 11.10am i then thought she might not nap again like yesterday but about 2.45pm she was moaning at the stairs door with her bedtime blanket so i took her up and put her into her cot (wasn't sure if she'd goto sleep for not) but she fell asleep around 3.00pm, woke at 3.40pm crying so i brought her downstairs, sat on the sofa and she fell asleep on me, i let her sleep until 4.00pm then woke her. Will try for a 7.30pm bedtime and see what time she falls asleep.

I'm defo not going out tomorrow before her nap lol. x

Last night wasn't too great, she fell asleep about 8.30pm then woke every 2hrs and was up for the day at 5.50am but i woke up about 5.20am and i could hear her moving around and fussing a little from 5.20am - 6.50am. She kept drifting off from about 8am but i managed to keep her awake until 10.30am where she fell asleep on the sofa and wouldn't wake up so i let her sleep until 12.30pm (a 2hr nap but hopfully she had a restful night.)

Last night we had a 9hr20min night and a few wake ups. Today went:

6.50am - up (she was fussing, maybe in very light restless sleep from around 5.20am.)
10.30am - nap
12.30pm - up. (I let her have 2 hrs as she seems really tired.)
6.40pm - Bed.

She seemed fine after her nap, she was fine until i put her into the bath at about 6.20pm and then she was moaning/crying in the bath i got her out and she then got really upset she was sick! cuddles wouldn't calm her down, she did calm down when i put her into her cot and she fell asleep within seconds. She's actually done this in the past when she's been at my mums and either refused her 2nd nap or not napped at all and got really OT and then really upset after/during her bath and while getting dressed and then fell straight to sleep.

I'm hoping she'll sleep abit better tonight and we can get back on track tomorrow with a nap hopefully 11.00am at the earliest as until last night the past few nights we've only had 2 NWs. x

Last night was great.

6.40pm - bed
7.40pm -  woke after 1hr
5.40am - up for the day.

She did moan around 3.00am & then she did a little shout out at 3.10am when i went in to see if she was still covered up, she wasn't awake though.

Will do nap 1.5hr nap at 11.00am today making it a 5hr 20 A time. And bedtime for 6.30am. She's now sleeping really and i don't actually mind 1 -2 wake ups as the first is before i go to bed, i just wish she'd wake for 6.30-7am. x

You'll get there! It's just a matter of pushing the day out by an hour or do. You can do this by gradually increasing morning A time, or doing a set nap regardless of WU time and moving it on by 15mins every few days.

So happy things have improved for you :)

I think if i stick to the current routine with a 1.5hr or a 2hr nap if she's had a short/bad night then i think she might carry on sleeping good *fingers crossed* lol.

Today i didn't put her down until 11.20am making it a 5hr 40min A time as i lost track of time and she wasn't moaning much. Will wake her in about 30mins making it a 1.5hr nap and then do bedtime for about 6.45-7pm. x
