Not sure about Marie's DD, but mine won't drink formula from her sippy either - GAH!  I tried the straw sippy - she doesn't like it
^^Same here...no formula, no milk, no juice, just water from the sippy. Also tried the straw and nothing.

Thank you Sara for the reassurance  :-*, as you said we put a lot of pressure to our LOs and our self. That's why I've decided to go slowly this time, but I need a strategy, not sure which one yet.

Not even juice?!?!  Yikes - that's how I bribed DD to drink water from her sippy in the first place!  Half water, half juice and then reduced the amount of juice over time... now she doesn't care if it's plain water or if momma has been really nice and put a half ounce of juice in her 7 oz sippy :)

I have a break through today!  I made a smoothie for myself - just milk, a banana and a few strawberries blended together... offered some in a sippy to DD and she did drink about an ounce of it!

I know! she's a tough one!

That smoothie sounds delicious!! My DD will take juice, smoothies or water directly from our glass, but won't take on her's...

I've started to give her a zip of milk each meal in a regular cup....hoping she'll get used to the taste.

Fingers crossed!
Marie

This is gonna be my next approach too.  I always give DD her sippy during meals and she does have a few mouthfuls every few bites of food to wash everything down, so maybe it will get her used to the milk!

Alright Marie - I had a brainwave of an idea!

I used to water down DD's bottles when weaning feeds that she was reluctant to give up so why not do it in reverse??

Both of these girls are fine with water in the sippy... maybe try a dilute version of their milk, like 4 ozs water, 1 oz milk/formula??  Then, over time, reduce the water and increase the milk/formula???

I am gonna give it a shot in the morning and will let you know if DD shoots me down!

UPDATE:  It's working!!!  6.5 water, 0.5 formula and she is taking it like plain water ;)

Have you tried warming the milk up a bit?  I know Kara said she tried, but have you given it a shot?  L will drink a full 8oz of milk from a sippy if it's warm...only takes a few sips if it's cold :)

WOW!  I don't even own a sippy that holds 8 ozs!  DD only drinks about 4 ozs over the morning and about 5 ozs over the second half of the day... but she does have two bottles still totalling about 14 ozs (I cut her back a bit!)

Hi girls, sorry it took me time to write back.
Still no luck here...she want's nothing to do with the sippy.

Kara I'll try your idea of reverse-weaning, I'll do anything at this point I'm desperate!!

Thanks! I'll keep you posted :)
