Need ideas for adding onto dinner
« on: May 09, 2012, 03:02:34 am »
ATM I am trying to lose weight and so I find myself making a lot of protein and veg for dinner.  DD is, I suppose, like most 3 year olds and is somewhat picky.  She won't eat chicken or steak or other meats unless it's meatloaf or ground up meat in something,  which I'm sure is a phase as she has liked them before.  She likes green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli but those are really the only vegetables she will eat unless I put them on a sandwhich.   I'm struggling to find things that fit into my diet but that she will eat and so I'm trying to put things on her plate at dinner I know she will eat, like rice and pasta.  I would love other ideas if anyone has any?

So you're quite low carb at the mo?  What about omelettes?  Why not go with the ground up thing and make salmon cakes?  http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2012/01/baked-thai-salmon-fishcakes-for.html

I'm a bit unclear about what you want though tbh.  Are you just wanting interesting carb and vegetable ideas for your daughter or interesting protein ideas for you that she can / will eat?  If it's the former, you could do some broccoli nuggets: http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2012/04/broccoli-nuggets.html
Here's my blog which is focussed on simple food for babies, toddlers and families http://mamacook.blogspot.com/

These are fabulous ideas.
and I am looking for both! :) Carb ideas and a way to make proteins that she will enjoy or at least eat.
