I will stop sterilising in a couple of weeks as M will be one and just wondered how you clean your lo's bottles....I plan to have her off bottles by about 15 months if all goes to plan but in the meantime...what do you do?

I didn't use bottles at all with Emma but all accessories - sippies, straw cups, dummies etc - I washed on the 90 deg cycle in the dishwasher.

With Oscar, I had a lot to wash and sterilies post-4 mths when I went back to work - two sets of pump equipment per day and bottles - and I did the same thing. But I *think* I finished sterilising a good bit earlier than a year both times. Could the recommendations have been a lot younger back then?

Anyway, I think at a year old, the high cycle in dishwasher is enough....
But that's me.

Yep 90 degrees in the dishwasher here too (still do as haven't quite managed to get her off the bottle :P) I stopped sterilising about 10mo I think.

We don't have a dishwasher so just scrubbed and rinsed in the hottest tap water. About once fortnight or so I used to chuck all sippy cups, dummies and bottles into the sink with some milton sterilising tablets - seemed to work ok!

That's what we did as well.

I'm more...... What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. We just wash in our regular dishwater and rinse. Air dry. Nothing special. I figure if I'm letting the dog lick his face hands etc. Whatever is or isn't on the bottle after washing can't be any worse.
