So stupid me, I'm still trying to follow his cues and it's not a success.  I need to start stretching him more now! 2h37 this morning, 1h10 nap, 2h43 this afternoon, 1h10 nap again. Woke happy both times and he's in such a good mood today so I don't think it's pain / discomfort.

Yesterday with 2h50 I got 2 bad naps (55AM, 45 PM), so I think I'll go with 2h45 set A for tomorrow AM and see how it goes!

well, scratch that I think. He's most definitely teething. I could feel that it's made progress today and will probably come out in the next few days. he was fine all day but really cranky tonight. would you keep the same A time then until the tooth is out, or push it anyway?

After a few horrible days due to teething/illness/constipation/reflux/gas (yes, it is possible to have all of those things at the SAME time!!!!) J seems to be heading back to his regular A times.  3hrs between naps and 3hrs 10min before bedtime.  Went down fine both times.

Elise, I think it sounds like M might be ready for 3hrs.

(((HUGS))) Jennifer!!! Did the tooth come out yet at least?

He used to be touchy for A times when he started napping longer, but these days he's not that touchy so I think I'll try to push him as much as I can tomorrow.

Thank you both :-*

3 hours of A time this morning... 50 minute nap!!! We could not resettle (rarely can these days).  2h15 for the PM nap, 1h40 nap. He woke unhappy both times.

I do think he really needs that A time stretch so I'll definitely stick with it though. For the past 2 mornings, he's woken up early around 5-5:30, and we had much trouble resettling him to sleep. I think he was not tired enough. So I'll stick with the 3h AM A time, and keep the PM A time at whatever is needed, and we probably will have to keep a CN until he gets consistently to 2 x 3h I think.  Now I would have to keep him up 4h until EBT, it does sound too long, wdyt?

No, I see a bit of white but hasn't really popped yet.  I have been giving Camilia and it does seem to help a bit.

This morning, awake at 5:15am, fed him and just would not go back to sleep no matter what I did.  He had a good nap day and bedtime yesterday so I was optimistic he would sleep a bit later as he didn't go to sleep until 8pm the previous night.  I decided to keep him up until 9am for his nap because I don't think the EWings will help if I allow the nap to be any earlier than that.  Well, he was fine until he was put down in his crib and then he was hysterical for 10 mins and then fell asleep.  I thought for sure he would be OT since it was almost 4 hrs A time, but he did a good nap.  DH woke him after 2hrs because he's convinced J has too much day sleep and that's why he's waking early (ongoing arguments about why this is happening in progress here...).  Anyway, 3hrs A time after that and he seems to be fine.  Will just do 2 naps even though it's another early bedtime.  Would like to at least get to 7pm but don't want him to be OT.

Elise, I think you're doing the right thing to stretch his A time to 3hrs.  He will probably get adjusted in a few days.  Hope those days aren't too bad for you though.  It can be miserable when you have a cranky baby at home.

Jennifer, often teeth can cause EW :( the discomfort wakes them early and because they have had most their sleep they can't resettle. EBT can be a pain, but do help with OT and when teething :-*

Elise, does sound like teeth are playing a part. Could you try a CNon short nap days to get through to reasonable BT or want to drop it cold turkey?

I don't know.... :-\  I think I'll continue with a little CN when I  need it, a 4h A time is scary!  ::)

It is long for 6 mths so a CN may be needed to get rid of OT...or EBT :-\

I wonder if I am reinforcing the waking by going into him.  If I don't he just moans and fusses until 7am.  He doesn't usually cry so can't be PU/PD which I don't think would work for him anyway since he gets hysterical so quickly and cannot calm down even in my arms  Should I just ignore him and hope he'll learn to fall back asleep on his own?

I think that if you rarely get him to go back to sleep, and he's not crying, I would ignore him. If you've got a chance to get him back to sleep, then I wouldn't because that extra sleep is sooo important! :)

So I squeezed in a CN again tonight but it doesn't make sense. I stretch him to 3h first A, then he gets 2h15 second A, then 2h before the CN, and 2h again after. He does fall asleep well at BT so I figure he's tired, but the EW we get lately are linked to that I'm sure. Maybe I'll try a longer last A once this week and see what happens. If it's real bad, I won't do it again.
