It's hard to say anything about the naps when you were out (they are usually shorter than when in the house and it's hard to conclude anything from them), but I think she might be ready for a little bit more A time in the morning. I am a bit careful saying that because she is very young still and it's hard to see clear patterns in that age, but it's still worth a try.
I think often that the first nap is the key for the day, because if you get it wrong it's difficult to sort out the day and you just need to go along with it, but if you get it right then the first A time can be a good indication for the rest of the A during the day.
In the EASY you mentioned for example, you she didn't get a restorative nap and ended up with an OT nap at around 14.
Is it usually her A time in the morning, 1.5h? Did you get today a 45min nap as well after such A?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The first nap is generally 45 min unfortunately. I was starting WD when she started yawning, but I think sometimes that's not reliable with her. I'll push the A time sightly and see how it goes.

Thanks again!

I agree with ima, also these 45 min naps could be developmental - W2S could help if the increased A time doesn't ;)

Yawning can be confusing. I found that DS yawned a lot when he was bored, but there was a difference in the yawning :) I know, it's sounds weird...
Short yawns were bored and long ones with a wide open mouth were tired, maybe it's the same for you.

Today my DS was yawning at 50 min (he usually goes 1hr15-1hr30 A time).  I just was calm and walked around with him for a bit.  He yawned more but didn't sleep til 1hr25.  I have found with my other children as well that the yawns weren't the best cues for me.  I would try a change in location too, to see if that helps

Hi, thanks for the replies! She's ding ths 5 min wake up thing again! I shh/pat 40 min, hubby took over and did another 10 min to settle her. She was intermittently crying, occasionally screaming, fall asleep and wake up again! Aaargh. Think we APed a little when she first started doing this by picking her up too much. so we agreed on sticking with ssh part. Do you think we are doing the right thing?

And, first A time 1 hr 40, first S 1 hr 50 min! Yay! She feel asleep in a stationary pram in church, with no help. Never happened before!

But the lunch time nap went wrong - 45 min. We're trying to introduce bottle with EBM and she hated it and got really stressed during the A before it so that's prolly why. Will try again tomorrow! Thanks fir the tips re yawn :) will have to be careful using it as a clue!

Thank you all so much again! It's so nice to have people talking through it!

hugs, great AM nap though :) :) :) I would stick with that A time again today first up and see how she goes. Maybe try WD 10mins before nap so at 1hr30 start to get her ready for nap :-*

Yeah, will keep trying :) I think the first A is really hard cause it kind of depends on when her last night fed is and how well she slept between 5 and 7. And I'm not good at the sign etc.  :) will work on it!

I'm horrible at seeing the signs of sleepy cues in my 11week DS, or really what they are!  But good job on that first nap :) :)  I am happy if I get one good long nap in a day :) (and then the others are all 35 min ones, lol)

Well today it's changed again. She woke up at 6 due to a poo, and won't go back to sleep. but after 1 hr35 min she had a2 hr nap! Had to go in at 45 min but it was quick.

Second A today went a bit long. I notice, fir the first time, there are different yawns! Ignored the first lot at 35 min, the big ones arrived at 1 hr 15 ish. Thanks fir the tip :). Unfortunately due to nappies etc she went down after 2 hrs. Oops. Will see how it goes! But I was def getting the cues wrong before...
