12 wk not taking much milk and dream feed question
« on: June 24, 2012, 09:12:34 am »
Hi all,

Lo is great, quite easy (either an angel or textbook) v quiet only cries if overtired really. He is above 75th centile, so a big chap! He does spit up a fair bit after/during every feed, and has recently stopped eating after 3oz, before he was having 6oz bottles! This has meant he's waking earlier at night, we're on one nf, between 2-4, sometimes he sleeps thru till 6-but not regularly, so my questions regarding dream feed-tried it last night at 10pm and he woke at 2:30-so didn't make any difference! Should I keep going for a few nights or not bother? Also any ideas why lo is not taking as much milk? He's been a regular 3 hr easy , 7, 10,1,4 6:30 bed-wondered if he needed to go 3.5hrs? He doesn't shout for his milk after 3hrs? Do you think he's not hungry enough? thanks Sarah x

I would think he might be ready to move to 3.5hrs.  Sometimes lately my 11wk old DS has only been having 3-3.5oz per feed during the day at 3hrs.  I am going to attempt to hold off a bit closer to 3.5hrs to feed to see if that helps.

I, personally, haven't had much luck with the DF this time around.  But we did it consistently with my DS1 and it worked for him.  Maybe try it for a couple nights and see how he does?

But I would definitely say he's ready to go to 3.5HR Easy
